So I was just curious if anybody had any experience with this? I have made a layered target, relatively thick out of cardboard, ~ 14"x36" (lxw), and I was wondering if shooting into the cardboard would ruin the arrows at all? ANyone have thoughts or experience with this? I will be testing it with my block behind it to find out what width I need for proper thickness, or if anybody has any recommendations for a foam insertion or anything else feel free to share your knowledge with me!
Seems a bit sketchy to me. Why the need? And are you using a compound bow? Unlike a foam target, the holes are not going to close back up and if you hit the same hole..... personally, I wouldn't do it with my arrows. Why not just use a foam target?
the cardboard it self will not damage arrows, i did it all summer and then shot and dropped a deer with the same arrow id been practicing with, i would draw a deer on cardboard and then practie vital shots, worked great for me
Was trying to make a portable target for my hunt next week up in canada and I was trying to figure out something that would be durable enough that my arrow would just blow through but easily transportable and save space for the trip. That way we dont have to spend another 50-60$ on a target and take up more room if I can get these sized cardboard sheets form my office and just build one out. This is more for a one time use than a constant target for me
It will not hurt your arrows as long as the cardboard is clean. It just won't last as long as foam targets. set from my electronic carrier pigeon
