I thought I read it somewhere before but I wanted to see what you guys think. Is it true that if you increase the draw length of your bow it will increase the speed of your arrows? Thanks! :)

    Always shoot the correct length.

It may increase slightly ... but you also now have heavier arrows and spine issues that could actually slow you down if not properly tuned.

tfox is a pro with this kind of info.

Yes speed is directly correlated to draw length on the same bow. hence the reason we have a standard length for comparison.

All things equal DL gives you more speed. Just as an example my friend and I both shoot bows with the same IBO. I shoot at 31" he shoots 26.5. We shoot nearly identical weights. He's 10 grains lighter than me on arrows and 3 lbs more than me on draw weight but my bow is about 30 fps faster. Don't remember exact numbers but I was around mid 280s he was 250 something.
So yes it does give you speed but you should always shoot your correct length.

Sure. The more draw length - the more way the arrow has to acselerate)))

i believe 1 inch of draw length is about 10 fps roughly, but your draw length should fit proper. there is no need to it stretch out. if hunting big game get a heavier arrow, if you want speed get a lighter arrow, but dont wreck your form. if you are chasing numbers and only want a fast arrow beware, because it comes at a price. a fast arrow slows faster and delivers less energy and at long distances it really shows up. here is a link to the science behind it.
