In NY you are not allowed to carry while bow hunting. I can carry to and from but not in the woods. It's not just the coyote's or the rare possibility of a bear, but I have heard plenty of stories of guys who get a deer and when they walk up on it a few people claim it as theirs. No one puts their gun on in the morning to make them feel like a tough guy or in hopes that they get to shoot someone unless they are nuts and a loser. -Andrew
I probably should, just because of the number of coyotes and pigs we have around here, but I don't. Luckily for me, though, I only have about a 100-150 yard walk to my ground blind.
just got my CCW permit this year in ohio. I carry a S&W .40 shield with Speer 165gr gold dots and will be in my pack this year. Im pretty secluded but better safe than sorry. Never know now a days...
Yeah every time I'm in the woods. Especially since the rattle snakes like the mid September heat down here in FL.
I use Frog Lube and I recommend it to all of my students. I am a handgun instructor so I do a fair amount of shooting and this stuff is great. It has a minty smell to it so that is a bit odd, but I put it on my Beretta 92 last year and it is still working. For the record I do carry a handgun when I hunt. My personal carry is my .45 1911 Springfield Champion with 230grain +p Bonded Hollow Points. The odds of me needing it are very small to nil., however I am not going to be that guy that needs it and doesn't have it. The guy shooting others on public land a few years ago convinced me. I also have a friend that had an encounter with some people on public land.
I carry every day at work and most weekends. I hunt mostly private land, so it stays in the truck. I don't plan on being a victim nor having my wife become one. It is sad that in today's society we are carrying concealed weapons. It is the world we live in.. **** happens Missouri or should I say rural Missouri was or is the meth Capitol. The only thing these people understand is a bullet. It's not about being scared. These people will kill you for nothing. I work for an electric utility and we stumble on to all kinds of crazy. My wife works at a bank. Doesn't matter if I'm at my desk or in a bucket, I'm packing. Kimber ultra carry .45 is my carry gun, wife carries a 380. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I may, or may not, have always had a sidearm with me when bowhunting. One of the WORST laws ever. ETA: Concealed means concealed.
Although he doesn't have a CCW permit yet,but my dad open carries a Smith and Wesson .40 S&W.There's a big bear around his spot and he needed a little more then 4 arrows with Rage broadheads....
