Has nothing to do with feeling brave, has to do with if see one it's getting shot. Having new born calves get killed takes a toll on the wallet and just a bow isn't the best answer after sun goes down. Sent from my SM-G900R4 using Tapatalk
Virginia allows it but I generally don't. I have the permit mostly out of premise and should start carrying as FroMan said its is best to have it and not need it than need it and not have it. So if its legal where you hunt go for it, to heck what everyone else thinks.
In Pa, it is legal with a License to Carry Firearms permit, so whenever I am in the woods, I carry a snub nose Taurus Titanium Ultralite 44 mag loaded with Buffalo Bore 255 hard cast ammo. Sent from my KFTT using Tapatalk 2
ALWAYS! My Glock 30 is with me every time I hit the woods! It stays on me 24/7. Open Carry is legal here in NC too.
First post, 3rd day of lurking. Looking to join the sport and bowhunting.com has been a great source of info. It's illegal to carry on state land while bow hunting in CT. Which I'm not happy about! I don't go anywhere without my shield it's going to be awfully strange being in the woods after dark without it.
I carry 24/7 unless bowhunting....if I did it would have to be in a couple ziplock bags tucked in my pack due to all the oil scents on the thing, I'm a little anal about that. It is with me to the ground and when I return to the truck but not during.
I do , everyday. That includes bow hunting. It's legal in Missouri if you have a ccw. As to the afraid question, it isn't about that. For me its about the fact that I don't want to be that guy who has to say " If only " I'm willing to take any advantage or precautions to make sure I do everything in my power that my household wakes up the same every morning. While hunting theirs all sorts of dogs, the odd cougar or the chance of walking up on a method maker who thinks that not getting busted is more important than you are. Oh and Tynimiller, there's a product out called Frog Lube that's all plant based and it's even edible. It's an option if your concerned about petroleum odors.
The guys at the range were saying I should look into that stuff....might have to convince the boss to order some in to "test".
Missouri started allowing it last year if you have your CCW .... I'll be taking the class Saturday . Between the coyotes that I've seen pack hunting and the neighbors mean bull that he can't seem to keep in his fence , I'm planning on being protected . Just not sure what concealable pistol to chose for a bull
All day. Everyday. There are places that I hunt where bears are everywhere. Never know when you are going to have to scare off a bruin. Plus I can't stand those pesky yotes.
FrogLube sucks. We used it for a year and guns started malfunctioning like crazy; especially our ARs. Use this: Gunzilla, The world best gun cleaner - Gunzilla, the worlds best gun cleaner don't know if it's plant based or not; stuff just works. to answer this question: umm, this? Michigan authorities find nearly 15,000 marijuana plants | Detroit Free Press | freep.com public land hunting at it's finest!
You are not allowed to carry anything larger than a .22 in NY during archery season... [another sigh] Even though I have a CCW.
I read somewhere that they have a 50 cal pistol now, dont know if its true or not but that would work
No. Just one more thing to lug around. I figure if a coyote, wild boar or bear attacks me I'll have a great story to tell. Probably should though when blood trailing wounded boars:-/
I'll be going hunting for the first time this year, and thankfully, WV has passed a law that as long as you have a concealed carry permit, it is legal to carry a pistol for self defense when hunting. My 10mm Glock 20 is on my hip whenever on my property with my dogs, and it will be on my hip when hunting.
