I was told that after dec 1st you cant take a doe unless you have a doe permit. Even if you havent used any of your combo license yet this year. Its for dmu 341. I looked threw the rules and didnt see anything about it. Can someone shed light on it for me please. Thanks

In IL you can take a deer as long as you have the permit for it throughout the entire archery season... So all the way till January 15th or whenever it ends this yr.

The person may have been referring to the "Late Antlerless Season" that is regulated by DNR per county... But that's a gun season not a bow season.

Which state are you hunting in? Rules may be different but I doubt it.

Im in Michigan. Yeah thats what i thought he was talking about was the late anterless season but he kept saying no it was for any of it. Ive never heard of it and he swears its been the rule here in Michigan as long as he can remember. So that means ive been breaking the law for the past 30 yrs. I dunno.

I'm here in mid-Michigan, DMU 319, and archery season goes from Dec 1-Jan 1. It looks like you're in zone 3 as well, the bottom half of the mitten. There is a Late anterless private land firearm, which is Dec 19-Jan 1 and you need a doe private land permit. You can shoot a doe with the combo deer license with a bow only during archery, so Dec 1st through Jan 1st. So right now I can take a doe on private with a doe permit and use a gun or bow OR take a doe on private or public land with the bow and use my combo deer or the specific doe permit... In terms of just doe. You can only use a gun on private right now.

Archery season runs Dec 1st-Jan 1st and you can use your combo deer as a doe license in archery season.

I'm actually in DMU 419* so just east of you. You can use both combo licenses on a doe too in archery if you wanted to. It is really close to end of season so I would if I got the chance to take 2 does.

Thanks for the reply prinetime_Deion . I thought i could still shoot a doe no matter what with a bow. Im on public land. I also did see you can shoot a doe with a gun on private land. I have no access to private land. Its all public land hunting for me. Thanks again.
