Well, I finally got on the board for this season. I was sitting on the ground behind some downed tree limbs about 20 yards where I thought the deer would be crossing an opening in a stone wall about 3 feet high. 7:45 am I see this doe at about 50 yards dead in front of me. I never saw where she crossed the wall, but I know it wasn't where I had planned. She comes right at me, no idea I was there and at 31 yards, she stops and gives me a broadside shot. My arrow found its mark, although the shot was back, and I heard her pile up not 35 yards from where I had shot her!! She is the first deer with my new Mathews Halon 32 as well.
