I sat in a brand new stand location today, and a doe and a fawn came out. Being the person I am, I tried taking some pictures. So I grabbed my phone and I needed to position it above the shooting rail. She then spooked, throwing up that white flag, ran about 25 yards back to the faw . I had already put my phone down by this point. They then ran and stopped about 2 more times until exiting the field. But not once did they blow. Did i just ruin a perfect stand, or should they come back past here, just a little bit more on alert next time?

Deer can't talk to each other so that doe might not come back but that doesn't mean a buck won't come through.

If that is there home area, I would expect them back at some point. Maybe just cautious as you said. As mentioned other deer certainly do not know about the encounter and will be through!

If that was a food source you were hunting over, I would expect them back. Just a trail, might give them reason to go around.

You could always just hunt and leave the phone alone.

I spooked a doe this season because my jacket made a little noise. She blew a couple times I blew back and she came back in thinking I might have been another deer. It's pretty had to make them think you're another deer if they see you but it's only one deer and there's plenty more out there.
