Well, been a pretty cool couple weekends. Last weekend, I was sitting with my son while he got his first ever bow kill. A decent spike that sure tasted good :) Was a pretty exciting night for sure. This weekend, I figured he'd want to take a shot at a doe, or hope for a trophy buck. Well, to my surprise....he didn't. Instead, he said he wanted to sit with me, & see Dad take one. Okay. Admittedly, it's pretty exciting watching someone else shoot one too. So, we sat late afternoons this weekend in a role reversal.

We don't have a lot of bucks on our property, let alone trophys. We do have an abundance of does though. Pretty much decided we'd take one if was presented with the opp.

    Well, one showed up. :)

She gave me a shot at 20yds, mostly broadside, ever so slightly quartering away. Stick! She jumped straight up in the air, & took off. She piled up about 40yds away from where she was hit. We saw her pile up, didn't make it 60 seconds. Was a pass through. Hit right in the middle of her heart. Was really cool, as it was almost an exact repeat of last weekend, with my son & I in opposite roles. I swear he was more excited about it than I was :)

Guess we'll have to eat fish, & backstraps again this week... :)
