Does anyone on here have a particular scent suit they swear by or use regularly? My wife has the ridge reaper from under armour and I decided to go a little cheaper and buy this suit below.

I didn't want to go too expensive, but at the same time I wanted to get a trusted name. What do you use if you have a preference or do you have any opinions on the Rocky Scent IQ?

The Scent IQ is a little different than a ScentLok type suit. The Scent IQ stuff uses a pretreated fabric that is supposed to inhibit bacterial growth. I think Scent-a-way uses something like this as well. I just picked up some Scent IQ stuff on clearance a few weeks ago but haven't gotten a chance to try it out yet.

^ That's probably the best approach right there really.

I used scent shield last year and will this year also. But I can't say it makes a difference really. Like the above said, hunt the wind. If this suit I have makes my hunt 1% better ill take it, but I can't say it has done anything. I just have heard people who think the suits make them scent free and that's not true at all so don't let yourself think like that.

I have the scent IQ fleece jacket, but I bought it because it was warm and comfortable, not for any scent blocking capabilities. I don't put any stock in scent eliminating clothes. You'd be better off wearing plastic garbage bags to the woods.

I've got a scentblocker suit from a few years ago. Does it work? I doubt it... Still fits and feels comfortable. But i'm trying to do everything with scent control regardless of what clothes i'm wearing to the woods.

I am a believer in Scent-Lok... That being said I am a freek about scent control!!! I start in september with the special soap- Our season opens this year October 1st. I wask my scent lok in the scent lok soap- i dry it in my dryer on high for 45 minutes- I also store it in an air tight container!!

I have killed a few deer that i should not have because of the suit and the precautions that I take!!! I believe the equipment that you use--If you DONT HAVE FAITH THAT IT WILL WORK- THEN IT WONT!!!

I am a scent control freak as well. Over the years I have spent a lot of money and tried about everything. I have a whole hunting closet especially built for my gear. What I have found is I like the Medalist Silvermax that inhibits bacteria growth best. I find it extremely comfortable and very effective. Any of the brands that stop scent at the sorce instead of containing it are much more comfortable. I don't find Carbon clothing as comfortable. Maintance is also easier with the SilverMax.

Thanks for your responses. Most of you tend to see things the way I do. I don't thing scent suits makes you 100% scent invisible to deer, but I think any type of scent control you can take in the wild you should jump on. I won't even let anyone put fragrances in my hunting rig in fear of being smelled by animals. I guess when I'm hunting a good spot and don't see anything, I just assume they smelled me.

I wear scent blocker suit, but I don't believe in the hype. I too play the wind and I smell like roses, but hey we can't all be perfect. I only wear the scent suits because they are Soooooo comfortable. And they look cool.;)

I just use a scent-a-way base layer, and use scent free soap and deodorant. I also keep my clothes stored in a sealed rubber tote with some cedar chips in it. Then i spray everything down with scent-a-way earth scent spray. Worked wonders for me last year. Had a doe come in on the exact trail I walked in on, surprised the crap out of me cause i was totally not expecting a deer to come in the same way. I was looking one direction, turned back around, and damn near dropped my bow out of my hand, she was maybe 7 yds from me munching on dead leaves. She finally busted me when i tried to draw when she turned her head.

No, I wash my camo in white distilled vinegar, it kills all scent.

Not that you know of Mass. All of us have been winded and most of the time deer wind us we never see them...then just don't come our way or disappear back into the thick.
