I think he will go to Texas, he wants to rebuild another team for a championship but stay close enough to Louisiana to steal recruits from LSU while he does it.

 

I am just skeptical he wants a task that daunting this late in his career. The easier path to another championship is at Bama.

If he does leave, I'd say Smart takes over. LOL at Strong being considered, he can't even take what should have been a heisman candidate this year and win the Big East with his play calling. No shot to land a Bama job. I'd say Anyone should be fearful of losing their coach if Bama is head hunting, but Smart is a more seamless transition to retain as much of the current recruiting class as possible.

 

I hope they take Smart. And I hope he is Muschamp 2.0.

 

Saban is a control freak and he has absolute power at Alabama. He could screw the athletic director's wife and not get fired. He is THE top dog at Bama and answers to no one. That will not be case at Texas. He is negotiating his own contract and more importantly his assistants. I wouldn't be surprised if Kirby Smart comes away with over $2M as an assistant!

He has a contract on his desk, it is unsigned because he is out recruting. Now wether it remains unsigned is anyones guess although he is renegotiating all his assistants pay.

Since Mal Moores death, he has been questioned a time or two, and Mal simply didn't do that...it was part of their agreement to leave Miami, total control. Alot of in the know guys on tidefans are citing this as the #1 reason he may leave. One of them says he is gone for sure, and he is usually spot on.

Make no mistake, it's going to be THE story until he sings the contract...wether thats in Tuscaloosa or Austin.

If I had my way, he would leave in 5 years, with 2 more rings and Coach Michigan.....oh to be a fly on the wall in Germ's house!!!

Hooker, I know you got a little felling down below if this happens, but think how much he will raid the state of Louisianna with Texas money to back him!!!!!
