on bow owners as they have on gun owners? Do we need to use some preventitive measures to protect our rights as bow owners? Our bow hunting organization here in Ohio touched on it at a conference. It wasn't viewed as a huge threat yet. What do you guys think?

The day is coming if liberals have any say. I believe they will go after ANY weapon that can be used for hunting. I mean look at our friends in Great Britain. They can't bowhunt.

As you said, they (the gov) are more focused on guns at the moment. But, bows will have their day in court I'm sure. To answer your question, Yes......we do need to start preventative measures as of now IMO

That's why I am the way I am. I don't talk about horrid blood trails around non hunters, show bloody pics and tounges hanging out, act like an Idiot with my bow, etc. I show everyone that I have the utmost respect for what I'm doing and using as a weapon. The less stupid stuff I do the less there going to talk about It. The less they talk about It the more likely It won't happen. Whether anyone likes to admit It or not the less attention you bring on the less bad things will happen.

Our DNR is too busy making stupid confusing regulations for every fall, so they are preoccupied with that vs making new reg for the bowhunters.

I think we are a long way from that. Say I rob a bank with a bow...worst case I get one of you and then I am done. The danger to the public is almost non-existant where bows are concerned....on a mass level.

I agree, they may not try to take them away before they get all the guns however, the threat exists to have them banned for hunting. And let us not forget about the recent arrow injury to the woman in NY City, I could foresee a ban on bows in NYC.

I think we have much more to worry about as hunters instead of just bowhunters. That is why it would be nice if hunters would support each other instead of constantly trying bring each other down. Bowhunters don't want gun hunters in their WV countys, Tennessee gun hunters have stopped bowhunting for bears, bowhunters don't want Xbowhunters in their season, gun hunters want to shorten bow seasons and extend gun seasons and on and on. You would think we (hunters in general) spend more time and effort trying to limit other hunters, that don't hunt like us, than we do fighting for our rights as a collective whole.

Well said. "They" won't have much dismantling of the hunting community to do if we continue to create our own divisions amongst ourselves.

Good point Rob, there is always a group somewhere with nothing better to do than try to take away from others.
