I would have not even questioned a shot at him. He's a big guy for where I hunt though. I'd be happy with him, and if you are too, then you did the right thing.

Waited for what?!?! 200" deer arent hanging out around every other tree! That buck would have been shot in a heartbeat if it were me! Then again, I have shot ZERO bucks that I would even consider to be in the "nice buck" category.

Awesome deer.....the only thing that matters is if it is a trophy in your eyes.....I wouldn't have hesitated to stick an arrow through him....GREAT JOB.......

Mature buck, thats all that matters. I would have taken him and will take something like him if he walks by as my first bow buck.

I'm new to bowhunting, but I must say an older deer like that, regardless of it's head gear is a good buck down with an arrow. I figured from the title I was going to see a 1-2.5 year old buck with not much going on, instead it is a stud. Great job.

I was just asking cuz the bucks where i hunt tend to stick around my area for acouple of years. That picture makes it look much bigger than it really is but i am really happy with it and hes now hanging on my wall but my goal is to make it in the p&y book. I have two really nice bucks on my trail camera this year that i would think make it in so hopefully i get a chance but my time is limited with me getting married this weekend and going on a honeymoon nov 12-17 so i kinda screwed myself i know..

crazy story on that buck too... i was up north in black river falls for 3 days hunting and it did nothing but rain and was windy as hell and didnt see anything, so my buddy and i decided to leave on sat around 12:00 and its about a 3 hour drive. We were not even planning to hunt down here when on the drive home we saw deer after deer in the fields so we flew home and i walked out and was up in my stand watching my buddy walk down the trail and he must of kicked that buck up cuz he came right to me and i double lunged him and instantly called my friend who was walking down to another stand and said i just shot a buck... its crazy how u remember every detail about a kill and i will have those memories for life.
