I am not sure why it was bold, and I agree with you about most politicians!

Why is that? You object to questioning and challenge? How can progress take place without change and without dialogue?

I wholeheartedly agree.. we are way overpopulated, and unfortunately because many prefer to do nothing about it, nature will take care of it for us. I would prefer we controlled our own population rather than leaving it to disease, natural disaster or famine. Having a child is a very bad decision for their future and everyone else for that matter, on a finite planet. Do you have children? I find it hard to believe that "we are going to all die anyway" is part of your discussion if indeed you have children or think of others. Do you not think the place you are going to end up is dependent on how you live your life now? Do you not think that disregard for others might send you towards a path you do not want to go?

Liberal parties are not the beginning, or the sole factor in that problem. Greed and gluttony are the root of the issue, and political entities have long controlled the masses through unequal distribution of wealth, by class, race and gender. Liberal, republican, monarchists, conservative.... have all done this. The only true equalizer is communism which for the most part has been corrupted by greed, gluttony and power. Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Some of the biggest issues are lack of credible information, fear mongering, and failure to be open to change, new ideas and the future. It is easy to navigate calm waters but are you better off?

Trump believes global warming is a hoax which was created by China. Maybe Donald earned a climate science degree from Trump University which would make him much smarter than anyone who works at NASA?

Donald ignored advice from many major US Corporations when he pulled out of the Paris Agreement including Exxon and ConocoPhillips. Members of Trump's Cabinet also disagreed with pulling out including Tillerson and Cohn.

The movement towards cleaner and renewable energy is happening regardless of what Trump does or says. Losing a seat at the table in future global climate/energy discussions is not in any way a positive outcome for the United States.

Global warming as sold by al gore is a hoax. Climate Change is a natural cycle of the earth.

So how do you explain the elevated levels of green house gasses in the atmosphere now when there hasn't been a major geologic event or meteor strike as in the past that would explain their presence. Did they just appear?

The climate has changed but not this fast. That's a fact. Do some reading on ice core samples...

Do some thinking for yourself. The earth has heated and cooled multiple times over history. As proven by he ice cores. Where did the greenhouse gases come from. Primarily the oceans. Over 90% of CO2 is stored in the oceans. As the water evaporates it releases those gases. The warmer the earth has gotten the more that gets released. And that will continue. Why has the earth warmed. The orbit around the sun.

If you look at the actual temps. The earth has warmed less than 2 degrees according to the records. Even if we assume man has contributed we are looking at tenths of a degree difference at the most. We also know the measurements of temperature have been flawed and inaccurate in the past. People were looking at thermometers that were graduated in 2 degree increments where the difference between say 30, 31 and 32 was a best guess and varied based on even than angle viewed. When you are talking tenths of a degree difference that is easily within error margin.

The idea that man can make that great a change in climate of the earth is absurd. But the idea generates a lot of money and jobs

What your referring to is called the carbon exchange. Here's a piece from NASA talking about human impacts on same.

    https://earthobservatory.nasa.gov/Features/OceanCarbon/page1.php

I don't understand how the Earth's orbit around the sun comes into play. As far as I know that's remained a constant. Are you saying we are now closer to the sun than say 10,000 years ago? That seems kind of absurd.

The earths orbit changes over time. It goes from more elliptical to more circular which is what we are in now. What that does is when elliptical the earth spends more time further from the sun allowing the earth to cool more. We don't have that now so the earth is heating or not cooling as much.

Sure man has had some impact. The Amount is what is debatable. Again we are talking tenths of degree difference. In the earth cycle the acceleration is ten maybe a hundred years difference in a cycle of tens of thousands of years

Realm of possibility is not good enough for myself and the dollars I work for my family. Give me a guarantee that us will get our Billions of dollars back in 10-20 years if it turns out it's all BS and I'll think about it.

We are getting off fossil fuels because we tired of OPEC nations pulling our chain and want cleaner air in places like LA. Nothing to do with Paris.

Ps. Aren't you glad we're in a warming cycle and not in a cooling cycle?

Climate change is real, my climate changes daily.

Where are the wooly mammoths? Where are the T-Rex's and pterodactyls living these days?

Why can the earth extinct certain species but not the human?

I believe certain scientific things still. Continental divide, vast expanse of "outerspace" and many other provable realities.

Climate change/Global Warming is nothing more than speculation based on scientific hypothesies.

Humans didn't kill the dinosaurs or end the ice age, yet they ended their existence just the same.

Growing up I was warned of the dangers of acid rain, then the hole in the ozone, then Global warming, now climate change and I am sure I missed a few in between.

I call it a cylcic nature of a planet of which is the only one we can say we truly document without "scientific thought" through speculation or telescopic lenses.

Life on Mars, life on Venus. Let's say they find a skeletal fossil on Mars. They will eventually "claim" they learned the history and life cycle of that planet via one organism.

We had 9 planets for how long? Carbon dating was the go to aging medium for the longest time and proved false, T-rex was a big brutal bad ass all my childhood, now he's just an oppossum in the cycle of life.

Nobody here will ever know if they were right or wrong, if they left the world in a better place than it was or if they just lived a delusion of what they wanted it to be.

We just need to coexist while we are here and hope we passed that sentiment down for those who remain when we pass.

I am no scientist but have we all forgotten evolution? There is doubt conditions change in the past and in the future, deal with it.

For those that believe in man caused global warming what have you done to reduce your carbon foot print? If you believe man is causing warming how can you reconcile still driving a car or any other recreational use of an internal combustion engine?

Yes I have children and they will be fine. Along with my grandchildren. My words may sound overly harsh but the fact is that it is not in our best interests. The horror of global warming has been jammed down our throats and I get it. I honestly do not think that the human race is the sole cause of it. It's a natural cycle of the planet that just happens to coincide with our growing population and increase in resource usage. I don't think we shouldn't be conscious about our consumption of natural resources and energy but it doesn't need to come with the cost of the Paris accord. That deal is not the lifeline to a cure. It may be a step in the right direction but you have to weigh the immediate cost. We can strengthen our economy while working on this problem in the background. We have internal organizations such as the EERE and IER that make research advancements everyday. We will get there.

We've taking steps around the house to reduce energy consumption. Insulation, high efficiency appliances, new windows and doors, and high efficiency lights. It's 85 out right now and my ac hasn't kicked on since yesterday. Considering the size of my house our power bill is pretty dang good. I do drive a truck. 2017 Silverado. One of the main reasons I bought it was the fact it shuts half the engine down when not needed. It's very good on gas on the interstate which is about 80% of my driving. People can't just stop using energy. But there's plenty of things people can do to cut back on consumption.

I understand I consider myself a conversationist, I do not think growing produce in the lower plains of california is sustainable, I understand and realize that we as a society need to evolve and change. I get pissed when people consider ethanol an alternative to gasoline production is subsidized and it takes 12 gallons of water to produce a gallon of ethanol not sustainable. The recycling again collection is subsidized but nobody considerers where the recycling goes after their bin, not where you expect. I have been in the environmental field of pollution recovery since 1989 and there is so much the general public does not consider. There is so much BS that the lemmings buy and feel good about yet never consider the end final outcome. 90% of the plastic "recycled" is burned as a fuel source in China. The media will not report that the Paris accord is much more important.

Unfortunately you are absolutely incorrect. Rates of change over 100's of thousands of years have NEVER occurred as they have since the industrial revolution WHEN carbon first began being used on a large scale, and being released into the atmosphere. Coinciding with that technological revolution are significant improvements in agricultural production and pharmaceuticals allowing for explosions in human population and higher density than EVER before on earth over millions of years. CO2 is but one issue that has been tracked through ice cores, as mentioned, but Methane and other warming gases have also ALL skyrocketed during this same short time period. Yes, climate changes have occurred for millennia and yes species have become extinct but, the rate of all of this change HAS NEVER equaled the changes taking place now. These DIRECTLY correlate to the advent of large scale use of fossil fuels. ON top of all of this are catastrophic drops in biodiversity... all human generated. Indeed it is hard to fathom but there are over 7.5 billion people all striving to live "we" in the west do. This science is conclusively agreed upon by 1000's of scientists along with 10 000's of peer reviewed studies that are publicly funded; there is no disputing this and failing to act on it is a crime against yourself, those in your family, your neighbours and the future.

It has everything to do with Paris which is a small start to solving the problem. As far as a guarantee goes.. I'll guarantee you that it will cost more to not act than to act and that cast will not simply be a financial one.
