Both of course. That way you can focus on the target or deer and still see if something else shows up. Say your aiming at a doe, and a big buck walks in. But you only have one eye open. :D
I shoot with 1 eye closed. I can focus easier on my target that way. I may start trying practicing with both open though just to get a feel for it. Definitely will hunt with one eye.
2 eyes open offers so many benefits that if at all possible, you should do it. There are people that can't for various reasons but it is the preferred method by the best for a reason. Both eyes open is much more relaxing, better sight picture and lets more light in. Both eyes open allows the pin to superimpose onto the target and allow for much easier aiming. I'm not sure how using a peep is supposed to sway you away from bith eyes open, if anything, it should sway you to it for the light and sight picture advantages. If the peep is positioned properly, there should be zero issue with it. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Tapatalk 2
If you shoot opposite hand to dominate eye, shooting with one eye closed makes it a lot easier. Under these conditions it takes a lot of practice to train yourself to shoot with both eyes open.
I am right handed and left eye dominant. Can't hit squat with both eyes open. Shoot with right eye open looking through the peep.
I cannot focus on my pin with both eyes open. My peep looks totally blurry too. Tried it the other day. The same with rifle scope. Can't focus through the scope with both eyes open.
Both eyes open here. Tfox made some great points and I've violins those to be true after I switched to both instead of just one eye. Sent from my XT901
