It saddens me to learn that there are still controlling men out there that show zero respect for their wife.
As far as the OP. I use my arrows over and over. In my opinion, the mount does not look right with an arrow stuck in the antlers. Unless the deer was running around in the woods with an arrow in the rack, I would not put one there. But, it does not matter to me what anyone thinks I killed it with. I know.
I actually tanned the hide of my first deer and have it mounted on a wall going down my stairs with the arrow through the holes, and my first buck the arrow broke but still put the back half of the arrow across the rack. The broadhead portion sits on a shelf. I plan on mounting all my buck racks in the same location with the arrows I shot them with. Don't really care what other people think. I just like it for my own preference. Yes I'm single and if I do get married and she doesn't like it, they will get moved to a new location. Lol
I keep the arrow and broadhead together after I kill a deer and display it in my gun room. I usually put a tag on it with info like doe or buck and date. Just cool for me to go back and look at them.
A good killing arrow is like a good fly that gets smashed up catching fish after fish, it has good karma attached to it....use it till it can't be used anymore.
This...... if the arrow is no good after killing a buck it goes in the rack otherwise that is my designated killing arrow until it breaks. Now one buck though I have a old wooden arrow laying in his rack just because I never had a wooden arrow After shooting my bear this spring I was missing half the arrow so before we left back home days later we went back out in the rain just to find the other half so I can display it with the mount when I get it back.
My first bow deer, yes I did. Any other dee I clean up the arrow and re use it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
That's a neat idea in a way... I couldn't have done that with any of my deer as the arrow was destroyed (I shoot and 85 grain set up and the deer fell over and broke them)... I display my Robinhood practice arrows in the antlers
#2 for me and my wife enjoys hunting :D As for the arrow thing, of they are usable then I continue to use them.
I get this, and feel the same way. The more chewed up a lure is the better I like it, but...I do have a red spinner bait that I used to catch a 50 1/4 inch musky that is hanging on the frame of the pic. It may be lucky, but I wouldn't want to lose that lure. It's sentimental and won't be going in the water again...
Before I started using Black Eagles I used an arrow as many times as I could. Gold Tips s3em to make it through a killing without breaking. Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk
I buy 6 new hunting arrows a year, I pick out the best 3 and put the others in the bucket with the rest of the practice arrows. I usually use 1 arrow a year, I retire the arrow. Put it with the other 2 in the practice bucket. I don't reuse or display the arrow I put to a deer.
I do not display an arrow. I will reuse the arrow if not damaged. The only one that I kept that was in good condition was my first bear kill because it was such a novelty to me. I later cleaned the arrow up and used it as the taxidermist stole, sold, or got rid of my bear hide, kept my deposit and cannot be found. As this was 1,500 hundred miles away I couldn't do a lot about it so after a while it just didn't mean as much to me.
I have never killed a deer with a bow.....this will be my first season..and I have already seen the buck I wont...I wrote "big buck" on the white vein of the arrow I plan to take him with....if the Lord wills I take him....I might save the arrow I killed him with because not only would he be my fist bow buck but he would also be my first wall hanger.....so that would weigh in on my decision but from there on out id probably just reuse if possible
