Every night for me too. Really hate when you are running away from something ( bad ) and you can only run really, really slow. When I was a kid I could fly and jump off tall buildings and not get hurt when I hit the ground. I could be shot, stabbed and ran over and it didn't phase me in a dream. Now when it happens I feel pain in the dream. I always have nightmares when I sleep on my back. I try never to fall a sleep on my back. I have woken Barb up a few time when I have nightmares. The first time she thought I was having a heart attack. She says it sounds like a whimpering, painful moan ( high pitched/hyperventilating ). Hard to explain but the crazy thing is when something really creepy grabs me from behind and I can't fight it off in a nightmare, I try to scream and I can't. Tim
When I was a teenager I would get sleep paralysis. Now THAT is scary. I would describe it as your mind waking up but your body not, I would lay there unable to move a single muscle in my body. After awhile I sort of started getting used to it, I would concentrate on getting my fingers or toes moving, once I got some body part to move, the rest would follow and I could finally get up and move around. I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free
I have had that multiple times too, It is awful. Sometimes I would get nightmares when when this would happen and I woke up but couldnt move my body, now that is scary stuff. It hasnt happened in a long time and I hope it stays that way.
"Dream Log" does sound Should have just said I wrote them down. It was the only way I could remember my dreams and keep dreaming. Kinda weird.
I experienced sleep paralysis once and never had it happen again...it was a freaky feeling. My most common recurring dream/nightmare isn't running away from something in slo mo but being in a fist fight with a faceless being that no matter how hard I punch it in the face...I just can't do it any harm. It's face is always blacked out sort of like one of the sword fencing helmets with a black screen on it. I finally got enough control over that dream that though I couldn't wound or kill the entity, I could fight it to a standoff and seemed to be as impervious to it as it was to me and that was the last time I ever encountered it. Coolest dream I ever recall was witnessing a large chorus of angels in the night sky as they appeared, organized and then sang. I don't recall there being any words just harmonious vocals like the most perfect church choir you've ever heard x 10. It was the most realistic and vivid dream I've ever had I believe. One other vivid and funny dream I had, one time I dreamt that a craft landed in my backyard and little grey aliens poured out and were trying to steal my dog and family and I fought them off with a shotgun. I only killed one of them before they evacuated but I recall examining it closely and even feeling it's skin and disecting it. Turned out it wasn't made like a person or animal but was a sort of silicone based organism with these odd nodes instead of organs. It's innards looked similar to a bugs is the only way I know to describe it. Both of those dreams were over a decade ago but still have total recall. I don't seem to have dreams like that anymore.
I used to sleep walk a lot as a kid but don 't think I have lately. My dreams are usually really hard to remember.
Here is another related thing. Why is it when you hear a song on the radio sometimes you will play itself back over and over in your head in your sleep sometimes days later Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
EXACTLY LIKE ME. except im still a kid but when I get stabbed or shot, I feel it, it doesn't hurt, it just feels uncomfortable. same with the scream part. sometimes I know im dreaming, and I try to wake up but I cant.
I never thought I would find a thread on a bowhunting forum about dreams. but now I gotta find a dream forum cuz this is awesome. LOL
I recall a high percentage of my dreams. I'd say I dream 75% of nights. I've had many reoccurring dreams too. And more often the locations are the same. I think it's funny how I'll have a dream dealing with the resort, and I know it's the resort & lake, but it's way different in some ways. But if I dream about the resort again, it's the same weird bizarro resort. Some times as I'm dreaming, I'll remember another dream and then they will overlap. I don't like having to get somewhere fast in my dream, it seems that only one of my legs will work well, so I can't run fast. I think it happens because I tend to sleep with my feet overlapped, so one foot has the resistance of the other foot under it, but the other doesn't. Similar thing can happen if I have to shoot a gun in a dream. I pull the trigger and there's no resistance so the gun won't go off. This isn't always the case though, especially if I fall asleep with my thumbs inside my fists. I woke up once after and awesome zombie shooting dream and my right thumb was sore from me "squeezing the trigger" in my dream.
I have dreams nearly every night. Mine are not structured enough to have a story line, though. Typically I'll be all over the place. My wife actually woke me up last night because I was breathing very heavy. In my dream I was running up a hill to intercept a bull, before that I was trying to buy some shoes
I did a dream study in college. I almost never remember if I even have a dream, let alone the details of anything dreamed. I hate sleeping... hate it. For me, if I sleep soundly, its like awakening from surgery. There's nothing... very CREEPY!
I experience these kinds of dreams quite often. It actually aggravates me because I can never land a punch or do any harm. Its really strange. I also have had dreams that are later manifested in "reality". This has always freaked me out.
Ha... I can wake up most of the time if it gets too bad. I will start saying wake up, wake up in the dream. Sometimes I think I wake up... only to have something grab me from under the bed or the thing that was after you runs into the room. Then I am trying to get out of that dream. I hate that !!!!! Tim
True story... The last dream I can recall was probably 2 weeks ago. I was out West mule deer hunting. I was glassing and spotted a giant Muley buck- 200" class deer. So then I started stalking, and I belly crawled out and around to get the wind more in my favor. It felt like hours. Once I accomplished that, I started inching my way towards the buck. Again, seemed like hours. Once I got into bow range, I got to full draw and gave a little whistle to get the bedded buck to stand- he stood and I started to pull into my release- then I heard "Babe wake up! We gotta get going!"... Kid you not... I never got to send the arrow!!! I was pissed! I rolled over and looked at her and said with all seriousness, "Do you realize what you just did?" I explained the story to her and I think she called me pathetic or something... Haha
I can sometimes, "control" my dreams also, they never work out exactly as I try, but sometimes I can pretty far, but then something interrupts... Most of this was when I was younger, now I still dream, but it's all over the place and I hardly ever remember it. Sometimes I do, but not as much as when I was younger. I can still remember a dream of some kind when I was little that I had more than once.... but all I can remember was hitting something with a plastic toy hammer... Why does that stick with me?
