Do you keep hunting your best stand during the rut or keep moving?

I'm curious as to the thought process of hunting a buck bed during the rut, especially in the afternoon. it's a bit off topic but would you care to elaborate for us a bit?

Thought process is the same as early or late season, try to catch mature buck on his feet in daylight. But unlike early/late season when the bed will revolve around food and security....now the bed revolves a round doe bedding/food and security. Mature bucks tend to shifts there bedding from solitude (near food source) to "social hubs" with access to multiple doe groups...and/or present doe food source.

I would like to add that my hunt scenario is a big woods, hill country hunt with low deer density...where you often have to take the hunt to the buck on the bucks terms, even during the rut.

A completely different strategy can be implemented in areas of limited cover and high deer density. Simply setting up in a funnel, on a scrape line or on a good trail can work very well. In this "rut hunt" scenario time in the stand can be the best strategy (I use that word loosely). Set there long enough and there's a good chance something will wonder by for a person to shoot at.
