I love hunting in a light rain.... especially during the rut. But too much and a bad shot makes for tough tracking. Sometimes you have to hunt in the rain.

Hunting in a light rain is great, especially in early season. Why? Because the light rain cools the temps and the deer down and they move more due to being more comfortable. Heavy rain and they bed down.

Love hunting in the rain. It covers your noise and keeps your scent down. Ive seen a ton of deer moving in a light rain also.

If I was hunting in an absolute downpour, I probably wouldnt shoot unless I knew I was going to make a perfect drop-within-sight shot. There are variables, but we take a chance everytime we release an arrow, rain or shine.

Whether it's raining or not, shouldn't EVERY shot be taken with the mindset that it is 100% makeable and will lead to a dead deer in short time?

Even the "Easiest" shots can go wrong, leading to a much longer than normal track, and without blood, a needle in the haystack search.

If you choose to shoot a deer in heavy rain, or with heavy rain moving in, all you are doing is rolling the dice. Plain & simple. Everyone has a different threshold for gambling, but to think "Oh I'll just take easy shots & it will be fine" is very naive.
