I really want to buy something to pass down to my kids someday. My first thought is a legit watch, mostly because I love watches, and watches hold their value well.

I'm in love with the classic Panerai watches.

I'm not really talking about land or a house here, just some object that you can pass down. I have some furniture that my Dad has made that I want to keep in the family. Like this table

    or this dresser:

Anyone have something that was passed down to them that you plan to continue passing it down? If you can, post pics.

Probably not what you were looking for, but more than anything I really want to pass a business on to my kids that will allow them to have a comfortable lifestyle in a rural area.

We have a few guns being past down through my family. Currently we have 2 Model 1873 'Trap Door' Springfields from my grandfather, and his Springfield 1913 with a manlicher stock he made. We also have his 3 S&W Model 19's be carried while in the FBI which were sent back to the factory for trigger work, these things shoot like a dream. My dad currently has these, but one day they will be mine and so on and so forth.

We also have a old doctors office style scale that was my great-granfathers who was an ear doctor in VT in the early 1900's, we still use it to check our body weight haha.

As far as things that I own, there's not much at the moment, but at 24 I'll wait a few more years.

Along the lines above, I have a similar goal. I hope to build enough real estate up alongside my dads investments to where my children wouldn't even have to work if they so chose (wouldn't present that as an option until they were done w college though lol).

Objects wise, I want to pass along my first deer rifle. Beautiful Remington 700 BDL Deluxe .270 my dad helped me save for and purchase back in like 5th grade. I haven't even taken it out of the safe in the past 5-6 years but itd be nice to pass along.

That and clocks. my Gold Pocket Watch from the 1800s. My great great grandfathers originally passed down the line to me as the youngest grandson. Can't wait to pass it along. I also have a clock for the mantle from the same time frame passed down through my mothers side of the family. Still works perfectly and I'd like to keep it in the family as well.

Sorry no pics, everything is in the safe/storage back in Kentucky currently.

There is a HUGE baseball card collection that has been passed down through the generations of our family. It will be passed down again and it is worth... A LOT of money!

Oh yeah...completely forgot about my Grandpa's old lever action Winchester 30/30. I'll definitely pass that down to my future (hopefully) son.

Probably just guns and knives. I also have some end tables that my grandpa made which were passed to me that I will likely pass down as well.

the sad thing is most kids wouldn't even be able to tell the time on that watch. And they likely wouldn't appreciate it as much as you hope they will.

Have an old 16 ga that was my grandfathers as well as an old pocket watch and boatswains whistle that will be passed on from my side. As well as the flag that draped his coffin that day I laid him to rest. From my wifes side there is a 357 mag for our son from her father and quite a bit of jewelry for the girls, we also have the spent shell casings from the gun salute at her grandfathers funeral. I plan to do something interesting with them for our son as well.

I was given a rolex by my wife about one month after my second son was born. My plan is give him this rolex upon my demise or possibly whenever he has a child. I have been eyeing up another one I could pass on to my oldest. He posseses a pocket watch given to him by his great great grandfather already.

My baseball card collection (haven't added to it since I was 12, so there are going to be some keepers).

All of my guns, including my Marlin 30-30 I shot my first deer with at age 12 with my father. I will get my father's guns someday, and will pass those along down as well.

There are some odds and ends I may pass on (old electric train set that was my great grandfathers) if I inherit them, but not much besides the big ones that you mentioned not to mention (land being on of them :D ).

I was going to pass on my comic book collection to my son but in the process of moving this past summer, someone broke into my home and stole half of my comic book collection as it rested in my garage. They stole all my old comics that I collected as a kid. Hundreds of old X-men comics, complete sets of Spiderman, the origin of Wolverine sets.......90% of the value of my comic set was stolen. I am not going to lie, I was crushed when I discovered they were stolen. Oh well, life goes on.

Ertl farm toys. The real ones, not the crap they make today.

I will be getting all of my dad's and my kids will get all of mine and his someday.

Other than that, guns and my first bow.

I got an old Rem. .22 that my Grandfather owned from when he was 10 years old. He died 3 years ago at the age of 84 so that gun is pretty important in my family. We also have a old clock, not a grandfather clock along those lines but only about a foot or a litter more tall. That's all I can think of right know.

I do have three guns that would be really important to pass down. The first is my Dad's deer rifle, a Ruger M77 in 30-06. I killed my first firearm deer with it and want to make sure it stays in the family. My first deer rifle is a 700 in .270 that has had a ton of work done to it since I got it when I was young. I've killed a small mountain of deer with it and it has always brought me great luck. The last is a Mauser 3000 in 30-06 that my Father in Law gave to me the day we got back from my honeymoon. The gun is spotless and has the smoothest bolt I've ever felt in my life.

I have a Remington 700 30-06 that my grandpa gave me 2 years before they died in a house fire, I will keep that gun in the family for sure. I also have a Ruger Super Blackhawk .44 Mag from my other grandpa, which is sitting on my hip in a deer stand currently. I have a side by side 20 gauge from my great grandpa that will be passed down, as well as a Fox side by side .410. There are also pictures of great great grandparents and such, as well as an old shaving kit from my great great grandpa I believe.

I will edit this post when I get home and can take pics
