In the unlikely event of a SHTF incident (rioting, natural disaster, looting, zombies, whatever it may be) do you have a specific weapon / weapons to protect you and yours?

My best SHTF weapon is probably my .22 rifle. The ammo is cheap, light, and easy to carry in bulk. I also have a 12 gauge pump, 308 lever action and 270 WSM bolt action.

The 12 gauge is my main home defense weapon and keep it in my bedroom closet.

Shotgun I guess. If the SHTF I'll try to get to my parents house and lay low there. AK-47 and a couple thousand rounds.

if the S%&# hits the fan I would think a rain coat and some hand sanitizer would come in handy :)

seriously though, My first choice would be my AR along with my 1911.

I guess. I own a few. Nothing extraordinary. Want to build an AR, but I'm just too cheap.

A SHTF weapon is generally your one or two (such as a rifle and pistol for example) that you not only use to defend your location but may have to take with you if you have to leave your location. It is basically your "go to" if it were to HTF.

I have a RRA ar15 with numerous mags fully loaded. I think around 600rd - 20,30,40 rd mags. I also have a Mac-11 in .380 acp with 8 30rd mags loaded an ready to roll. Plus 2 mossberg 500's with extended tubes and loaded ammo slings Currently building a AR-15 pistol, just néed a upper and to complete it. Close to 9k 5.56 ammo. 3kish .380 acp ammo. And cases of shotgun ammo. I still need more. After my pistol ar-15 I want to build something with more power. Was going to do a ar-10 but I think I'm going To go with a bigger caliber, like a .458 maybe.

I also carry 2 pistols with me. With extra clips in and ammo in the car. GF does aswell.

No specific weapon... but we ah, have a few to choose from depending on the need. From .22s to 9mms to double stack 1911s to ARs and soon.... a .338 Lapua (for when you want to reach and touch the zombies)

We also have about 40 bows and several hundred arrows if we had to be sneaky. :D

A few. In would be long into the backcountry at that point though. I would likely rely mostly on a .22, IMHO, that would be the absolute best caliber for a zombie situation.

I don't worry about it at all. I already own guns for hunting. Dual purpose I guess.
