do you have a hobby that no one really knows about?

The game of thrones threads got me thinking, I know I (used to) have a hobby I wouldn't tell anyone about....I know im not the only one who had/has one....FESS UP!!

mine is/was Model Railroading.......and I was horrible at it!





I also love med-evil times...and have always wanted to do the LARP thing...(live action role play)

I read nerd books but have never hidden it. My wife makes fun of me all the time. Game of Thrones (really A Song of Ice & Fire) , Lord of the Rings, Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series, all Terry Brooks Shannarah books, etc.

 

Nobody other than my wife knows that I hang out on a bowhunting fourm.

I nerded out in college over the game "Battlefield: 1942" (it's now like Battlefield 4 or something). But me and my friends went so far as renting a hotel conference room and hosting a LAN party/tournament.

I was the MVP of the tourney. I still have my trophy...and yes, we even had a gay name for our group.

 

LARPing??? HAHAHA!!!

 

When my wife ain't home I like to rub her panties on my......well, nevermind

 

When I was younger I used to be in to the World of Warcraft stuff pretty bad. Then I found out parties existed.

Hah.........most of my friends at work think competitive archery is pretty nerdy. I couldn't tell you how many times I've been asked if you're required to wear green tights to a competition.

In college I was obsessed with the video game Half Life. I played a ton and attended a couple of LAN parties as well. Nobody could touch me. Also played 007 on N64 in the same timeframe and was untouchable. Never really played video games much as a kid and haven't played one in probably 10 years........but I was really into it for a short period.

 

My wife gives me grief for all my beer trades, especially for my last one, in which I drove 2 hours to meet a stranger in a gas station parking lot to swap beer

 

I drive an asphalt modified on Saturday nights. Most people's reaction is "Oh you just drive in a circle. .... Cool". They just dont get me haha

In high school I spent countless hours on the weekends, we're talking 12-14+ hours a day, playing Warcraft II on the LAN at my buddy's house. I would actually lie to my other friends who wanted to hang out and see a movie or something and tell them I was staying home so I could play more video games. It was out of control. Then I discovered girls and parties and it all ended.

 

I'm either old, out of the loop or not a dork like you fellas, but what is LAN??

I post on an internet forum about a hobby im not very good at and go on out of state camping trips with the members, the majority of which ive never met.

Ive reread the wheel of time series so many times the booka are tattered. Gonna put them all on my phone when the last book comes out. Great books even if their nerdy ha. I play way too much COD on boring days also, but I blame my buddies their always on telling me to join the games. But where I live if you head into the woods for hours at a time for no other reason than just to go people think your weird also.
