According to their commercial, the inspiration for the design of the 2011 Cadillac CTS-V was an archer, drawing his bow.

I've seen this ad so many times, I could probably recite it word-for-word, and maybe I'm nuts, but I just don't see anything that even remotely resembles an archer drawing a bow.

It's definitely a badass car, but seriously, nothing about this vehicle looks anything like a guy drawing a bow.

The King admits his shortcomings, he's definitely not a connoisseur of fine art, but he's drawn a bow or two in his day...

Just saw the commercial and my son said that same thing. I just don't see it.

Maybe it has more to do with the horsepower and acceleration.

i am guessing they are referring to the windshield being the limb the front end being the arrow tip and the slightly sloped back window the string... just an abstract view TRYING to make it look like a bow, but its still only half.

Look at the shape of the car from the hood and back on the top side. Now look at the archer's arms. "Same" shape I guess is what they're portraying.

When I hear that an automobile design was "inspired" by some kind of person or thing, I tend to look for something a little more straightforward or obvious.

It's easy to see. After dropping all your cash on that car you'll only be able to afford to eat venison shot with a cheap recurve bow.

If you look at the windows as the riser and the line of the hood and trunk as the bow, I see it. However, they do say that it was the inspiration for the car, not that it would look like an archer.

The first time I saw the commercial I saw what they meant. I didn't pay attention to the bow or the archer. I see the resemblance in the fletching of the arrow.

    "an archer, drawing his bow"

    Sexists!!

That archer is going to have some serious string slap with his elbow locked like that. :)

I don't see an archer at all and I went and looked at mine setting in the garage. Give one a test drive or don't cause you will like it ALOT. It is a really fast car but it drives and rides incredible.
