The Big Wheel was a part of pop culture back in the 70's, and who here did not love their big wheel?

Facebook, forums, blogs, texting...all part of our current pop culture. Just because you don't follow Kim Kardasian on twitter doesn't mean you don't partake in pop culture.

"Following" pop culture and using the same gadgets or items are completely different IMO. Heck, even watching a TV show doesn't mean you follow pop-culture... unless you are watching TMZ. :busted:

im about 50/50. i work with a generation younger than myself, so i have to stay hip to the hip-talk just to know what is going on half the time. other than that i'll see an Outdoors mag and flip thru once and a while just to see the new gear or maybe linger on a G4tv episode a tad bit longer to see the latest and greatest technology, but thats about it. really no "new" music out there that i've found worth buying, so with that being said movies are my pop culture umbillical cord i guess. i love sitting in the theater with an ice cold drink and some popcorn

    I stand corrected.

I text and I have running water. Clearly, I'm a pop diva.

Denial isn't a river in Northern Minnesota. Quit trying to float down it.

'Deinal' isn't a word either :poke:

I'd be way more hip if I had TV service, but I don't, that's why I waste all my time here:evilgrin:

    Dang, I'm busted.

BTW, yesterday afternoon I had some time to kill while I was waiting around for my chiro. appt.. So I decide to buy a book for my kindle application on my Blackberry. (see uber I am uber hipster!) Of course the first book that pops up is Hunger Games. I had read this thread earlier.. so I thought... "Yeah, I'm gonna do it!"

So that seals it. I have now bought and read The Hunger Games. I'm the epitome of Pop. Even Hooker must be jealous.

(tho', while the book was mildly entertaining, I'm not sure why there is all the hype for it)

    Nope...

    No smart phone
    No Ipad
    No Ipod
    don't twitter
facebook - would drop it but the wife uses it... yet won't get her own facebook page.
Have yet to purchase anything online unless using a gift card.
    no paypal
    no online banking
    no automatic bill paying

Forums ?? I liked hunting big bucks long before this forum or any hunting forum for that matter. You guys are not what I consider pop culture. Well... hooker is and Vito is a wanna be. You are a diverse and interesting group though. For the most part... you guys are just friends/acquaintance who most likely will never be seen nor be a burdened to me with your problems and I don't have to worry about you finding/screwing up my good hunting spots. I like that in a friend.

I don't go to "the " movies so when I see a new movie to me... it is old news.

    I don't care for sports.

I don't listen to talk radio.

Rarely watch the news and only local.

Finally dropped dial-up a little over a year ago. Yay Youtube !! I listen to older songs for the most part on it.

    I do text.

Not sure how you think I ooze pop culture ?? I don't think I do. I am probably the hick of this group.

I'm really into pop culture. I like Diet Coke and sometimes a Royal Crown with a moon pie.

IMHAHO, if you follow pop culture because it's popular, you are nothing more than a :sheep:. I would rather spend my life determining what is important to me without some type of media attempting to force feed me what someone else believes is of value. However, if you are one of the :sheep:, I hope you have a long and happy life.
