I am curious to know if people feed there deer, and if so what do you feed them? I have looked online a few places, and there is a great debate over if corn is "good" to feed them or not. Also, cracked corn vs whole corn, ect... Thanks in advance for any info,

I feed them just regular shelled corn from January until April.

I feed year round, but not enough for them to just live on what my feeder puts out. I have anywhere from 2 to 10 in the back yard any given time. These deer have a free pass in this yard.

Parents do. Shelled corn and apples. Not enough to supplement, just a little "treat." It's not unusual my mid February for the yearlings to actually come running down out of the woods as my dad is leaving after putting out some corn. I don't really like them getting that comfortable with people, but my parents enjoy watching them.

Alfalfa/clover hay. Just a small sliver every couple days. In the summer they eat all my birdseed. :(

I begin feeding corn in late August. They don't seem to come around much until then. Put out a 50# bag a week. Fun to watch them come up so close and family loves seeing them. Also put out old apples if they are going bad and at Thanksgiving the wife makes a bunch of apple pie so the whitetails get the scraps and cores!

    Wow he's a bruiser.

I live in a city and have deer coming into my yard and eating off my two apple trees. It's kind of funny being a few blocks in from the edge of the city and finding deer tracks in my yard.

I have a salt lick and two apple trees in my yard. It's also a natural travel route for them. I feed when the snow gets deeper at the cabin and on my other property.

If I was in the right spot and it was legal I would. It would definitely make for some Fun watching.

It is not legal in IL.

You can feed deer at all in IL? We can feed them in MN, but can't hunt over a "bait" pile.

Not yet, but I have been thinking about it. Occasionally I've put out some mineral mixes, but not much in the way of food.

I just fed them some corn yesterday at my parents house. My parents enjoy watching them and I enjoy looking at the bucks that seem to come and go year to year on the game camera. It's funny that I haven't had the same buck come back from one year to the next. Here is one from back in the 35mm days.
