Exactly Bob, good stuff. One night walking out, there is this tree I pass with a hole about 5-6' off the ground. I've passed this tree for years. Well this year I put my green Streamlite towards it and see these 2 little eyes looking back. I inserted the light and 2 mice sniffed and touched the green light. I laughed and walked on out to my truck. Little things. Good times.
The older I get, the more I appreciate and enjoy all of these little things that one experiences while hunting that have been mentioned, but I will also include the weather, whatever Mother Nature throws our way. Within a typical season, I will hunt in 90 degree and above temperatures as well as days where it get as cold as the low to mid teens, all in the same area, and within a 90 day range. Rain, snow, 30mph wind, I like it all (as long as I have a warm home to go to at the end of the hunt, lol). It makes me feel real and alive.
Wonderful reminder Rob. I know that for me enjoying the beauty around me while afield is the soul medicine I have to have. If I start feeling frustration set in it doesn't take much to allieve it by just looking around and being grateful for just being in the woods.
