Yeah, but, I gotta ask...what happens to the possums?

That's most of the reason I hunt. If it has meat and we kill it then it will get eaten.

Nothing gets wasted. I keep enough for ourselves then give away the rest, assuming there's a surplus.

Shot three whitetails last season and between my fiance, myself, and my brother we are down to 20 pounds of hamburger, 2 pounds of breakfast sausage, and one package of tenderloin. I'm saving the sausage and loins for just the right time. Like some of the other guys, I guess I'm going to have to shoot more deer next year. Dang!!!

The turkeys get ate too, they make some great fajitas. Other than that I don't shoot many other critters. I had to take out a few coons for my parents last year, they were not eaten needless to say.

If I shoot it I intend to eat it, just part of hunting in my eyes.

Eat everything, or I give it away to someone who will.

Hey brother - if I'm not mistaken you can accomplish 5 and 6 with one arrow. They're different names for the same animal.

They go in the garden. :)

I saw a 'possum at the edge of the yard just a few days ago. I have the maglite on standby. :D

I also saw another four rabbits in the yard. I think there must be a big queen rabbit around here that is like the uber-productive queen alien monster in the movie. I picture queen rabbit, somewhere just beyond the yard, crankin' out rabbit after rabbit. There's just no way natural fecundity can explain our rabbit population.

    I eat everything I kill.

Good thing too... cause I only kill 1 or 2 deer a year.

(My exception is the yote.. as I'm just not about to eat one of them stinking things.)

Yes pretty much, but I have had years where Ive had plenty and donated venison as part of a program that works with the Wisconsin DNR.
I also have since found out a local food pantry will except processed venison and hopefully I can contribute there also.

I eat what I kill (save the red squirrels, the ravens get them), but my goal is to kill what I eat...

... which reminds me, I need to go catch some crappies :D

Yes. My "family" also consists of my friends. I usually give away 40-50 lbs of meat a year to the janitor at my work and other friends, unless I only kill 1 deer.

Yes, I eat everything I kill. Thats part of it right? Deer, squirrel, rabbit, fish and when I finally kill one turkey. I kill, clean and butcher and my wife cooks it all. Last season we didn't eat much beef and if I can do it this year, I hope to put enough meat in the freezer to eat all deer until mid July or so next year. We are even entertaining the idea of starting to raise our own beef cows and have them processed. The best steaks I have ever had came from my wifes uncles cow from last year. Anyways, as stated YES.

I believe if you are not going to eat it or at least give it to someone to eat then don't kill it. Just my opinion.
