The Feast of Saint Valentine aka Valentines Day is also a religious holiday.

If you want to say it has been commercialized for monitary gain. That I agree with but how in the hell can you say it's made up when it's a celebration of an actual event.

Vday is completely made up. It's a celebration of an act or emotion, not an event.

But whatever, have a nice day:)

Saint Patricks Day is another one now that I think about it, seems America just needs a reason to spend money on food and alcohol if you ask me.

We don't do much for V-day. I'll probably make a nice vension steak dinner. We hardly celebrate birthdays either. For Christmas this year we got crazy, and bought eachother winter coats :tu:

It just really annoys me when I hear all the "We don't do anything for V-day because it is just a commercialized day to get people to spend money" or "I don't need a holiday to tell me to buy something for my SO", when a month and a half ago, all these same people were loving all over Christmas.

Holiday means holy day. So if you don't believe, then I guess most are made up.;) :D

February 14 is when saint valentine died so I completely retract my previous remark about it being made up.

Look at it another way, when you were single dinner and gifts got you laid. Reminisce to your single days.

What a bunch of cheap azz loser's ! I will take my wife to dinner where ever she likes to go, then I'll piss some more money away buying her some chocolates and some of the wine she enjoys.

If it makes her happy then she will make me happy and we like it when everyones happy!

haha yeah exactly. I buy stuff for the lady on the holidays, but more because its just the norm. I have no religious beliefs behind any of it. I just enjoy the happier atmosphere holidays tend to bring.

We will do dinner somewhere, she can pick if we fight the crowds on Thurs or if we do it this weekend. I don't need a special holiday to do something nice for her.

We are going out Saturday for dinner then to a dance. Hopefully there is an open bar if I'm going to be dancing. ;)

Ever go to D'Raymonds right outside Albany? If not, you gotta try it, it's amazing.
