If your not intending to hunt with the hand gun then no need to carry... besides id prefer a knife and close combat! Lethal and silent that's my motive. ..

You can carry a hand gun while hunting just not during bow season... and of course you need proper pistal permits

Wish I could. Can't even get one here in Canada without a special permit. I don't think I can even legally carry a shotgun until rifle opens.

It's illegal in MO, and I don't feel the need really.

At my age in Mn it's illegal. But the only thing that would bother me is fall bear hunting with my bow, so I hunt out of a double wide with someone who can legally carry.

how do you like that ultralite? was looking at that or the tracker 44 mag which is a few ounces heavier but seems a slightly smaller profile.

Not allowed in CT even if you have a CC permit.

I like it. It is a handful to shoot, but is manageable with some practice. It is built off the Raging Bull frame so it has the larger rubber grips, so that helps. The lightweight frame serves it purpose for carrying as a woods or trail gun. I hardly notice it is on my side. My only compliant is it would be nice to have adjustable sights.

thanks for the assessment. I'll have to track one down. using a 10mil glock right now but like the reliability of a wheelgun.

Never leave home without a handgun. Glock .45cal! I do carry one in VT when I hunt. NJ is a different animal. Very strict gun laws in Nj

I have a question for all you folks who carry. What is it that makes you feel you need to? Its legal now here in PA, but I have never felt compelled to. On the property I hunt, we are polluted with yotes and bears, but I've never felt uncomfortable around them to the point where I felt that I needed to carry.

If I hunted in a state that had dangerous bears (brown, grizzly) or on public land where you never know who you may run into in the dark, I'd be carrying for sure.

I carry as a habit for personel protection. Not in fear of animals but from other people who may try something.

I do just because of snakes. I hunt private land so I'm not worried about other people I'm just not a fan of rattlesnakes or Moccasins that are common where I hunt. Lot easier to shoot them with my pistol then my bow. Plus I generally carry on a daily basis.
