I am a handgun instructor. I teach NRA and CCW classes. In my class the other night I was talking about where do we carry handguns etc and bow hunting came up. I personally carry whenever I'm in the woods and got me curious how many people on here do. For me the decision was easy after a close friend encountered some guys with guns shooting at squirrels and the hunters that were shot in Northern Wisconsin a few years ago. I also tend to hunt a lot of public property.
I can't find teh thread lol. I'm a tech idiot though. What search did you use? And how do I delete this thread?
Same thread...different title.... http://forums.bowhunting.com/whitetail-deer-hunting/64226-does-anyone-carry.html
I don't and its not allowed in NY. I would do it if I really felt the need but then again I don't even have a handgun.
Each states laws will be different but in Cali we can't carry when how hunting at all. General season I think it's ok but have to double check. If you can, I would recommend it. Never know what you'll run into.
only during gun season. Don't feel the need to otherwise. Plus I don't have a handgun. By the way this exact topic is covered in the whitetail deer hunting page.
You obviously haven't seen my biceps.........I'm always packin two guns......... I'm an ex-con so I can't have a firearm, but my bow hunts are close and I don't worry about bears or wolves, cougars. I am planning some out of town hunts in a year or two and I'm hoping my outfitter is packing more than a flash light !!!!
I do not just for deer hunting. 1st time I went bear hunting I did and may do so again depending upon situation.
