I believe spirits are real. My son who is 10 has seen his great great grandfather multiple times, all when he was younger but his great great grandfather passed away long before he was born. When he would stay the night with his great grandparents in the house where his great great grandfather passed away my son would be found what we thought was talking to himself when he was playing to actually be talking to him. No pictures in the house and no one had ever told my son about him just the rocking chair in the living room that he use to sit in. Now while I was growing up in the farm house my family built in 1885 I would see outline of figures all the time and most of them were outside in the yard. We never had any inside pets like cats or anything but when we were all in the living room at night you could here a sneeze coming from the next room happened about once a month. When I got older I got the house and would wake up in the middle of the night with the blankets completely off the bet, one night I woke up to feeling the tug of the top blanket so I laid there and waited till I felt it again, I yelled stop real loud as it scared the crap outta me and it never happened again.
I believe 99% of these "encounters" have a logical explanation and what we experience changes with time as our memories fade. That said, exorcism type movies scare the **** out of me... Cause I can somewhat wrap my head around them happening in real life.
I'm with you on this. Don't believe in spirits but I am a firm believer that a mentally ill person can think they are posses and act on a very haunting way. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I can't say I believe in ghosts. I believe when someone dies there are two ways to go and there is no sticking around here. Spirits are another thing. I believe there are evil and good spirits, just not those who have lived and have died.
This. Plus it keeps shows like Ghost Hunter's alive (pun not intended). Plenty of people believe it, but the show certainly never proves it :D
I'd have to see to believe and I haven't seen anything yet. I've went into houses that were supposedly haunted but nothing ever happened. Bigfoot and ghosts. The two bulletproof shows because people will always be looking.
I've thought if any house had spirits or ghosts in it it would be mine. Built in the 1860's, supposedly was part of the Underground Railroad so on and so forth. But as of yet, nothing. Kinda disappointing actually.
My wife saw a full color version of her Father that passed away when she was 4 months old, growing up she only saw Black and White photo's of her father. Freaked her the heck out though... she called me when I was 300 plus miles away and she called me at 0100 crying about the "guy" she saw in the house... I told her to hit the panic alarm, she said no, the alarm should have went off. I told her to call the cops, she said no because they would think she was crazy. Later we found out that she described her Father as he looked as a teenaged boy. Oly
I used t work in the adjoining building to Hotel Baker in St.Charles, IL. There was a woman that committed suicide in the building at some point and is said to haunt the hotel. Myself and a couple of others had witnessed or felt like we were being watched or heard noise even though the only way in was a staircase that was locked or the elevator we used to go up. I also lived the next block West and and there was a young girl several people saw in my apartment, or heard her. I also hunted down the road from where my father grew up and I swear my Grandpa's spirit is in that area and he worked on the farm I hunted. We have an old neighbor that we still see out from time to time named Chris Flemming who does a lot of stuff with the paranormal. I have heard plenty of stories and the dude somehow thinks he can communicate with them.
Call me crazy but I do believe in them. Some one close to me saw one as a child and still to this day the story has not changed one detail. Since then I have 100% believed in it. The story was that she was living in another country at the time. The country was mountainous and was just starting to import lights to the country so there were no street lights yet. She was trying to find her way home but couldn't see much because it was at night. As she was walking she saw someone and what stuck out was she had a beautiful white dress on. So she went the person to ask for help and as she got closer, she realized this person was floating above the ground. She ran away and eventually passed her house, went inside and locked her bedroom door. Later the next day she walked the same path with her Aunt she reached the point where she realize the "person" wasn't really a person. Just beyond that point was the 200 foot drop of the mountain. Later on that week after looking at old pictures of people, she saw a picture of her uncles wife who had passed away before she was born. In the picture she was wearing the same exact dress and looked exactly the same as who she saw.
Growing up I always thought I heard things that weren't normal. I sometimes saw a outline of someones face in my room. I didn't think anything of it until I started dating this girl and I was talking to her mom and I told her where I lived and she was really surprised. She told me someone had committed suicided in my house back in the day. It was on the porch where he did it and that happens to be right next to my bedroom. She also said that a couple houses down her father did the same thing and committed suicide. They call the hill with 4 houses which I live on "suicide hill". Little creepy but nothing bothered anyone or harmed any of us.
Several years ago I was riding my bike late at night and I came around a sharp corner of a building into the alley behind my office. I just about hit this creepy old lady that was carrying a bag. I will never forget the look on her face. She had these completely blank eyes and emotionless face. I swerved hard left to keep from hitting her and biffed it on some loose rock that a recent hard rain had washed onto the pavement. I was only down for about one second, but when I looked back up.....she was gone. I mean just flat gone! The weird thing is, there was no place she could have gotten that fast that I couldn't have seen her. But, there sat the bag. I rode around the block looking for her, but nothing. So I went back and picked up the bag in hopes of seeing her again. Nothing. A couple of weeks later we were having dinner with friends and I told them the story. One of my buddies said that once in a while when he had to work late, he would not get his evening jog in until well after dark. He liked running on the paved roads and trails through our town cemetery because there is no traffic and some decent hills. The creepy thing is, he said he had seen that lady with the bag sitting on the ground next to an old grave marker in the cemetery late at night several times. Always in the same spot. He said it was always really creepy, no light, no nothing, just sitting there in the dark with this bag. So, being the coward that I am, I was too afraid to face her. I could not stand the thought of those blank eyes and that emotionless face. So, next best thing I figured was to go out to the cemetery just before dark and put the bag next to the marker he told me about. So I did. The marker was so old and worn that I could not even make out a name or date on it. I couldn't wait for first light to go and see if the bag was there. It was gone and neither of us has ever seen her since.
I heard a story from one of my coworkers and something that creeped him out (hope I can do it justice). He was watching his sisters kids (1 girl and 1 boy) one night and it was getting close to their bedtime. So he puts them to bed and goes back down stairs to watch a movie. Later that night (don't know how long) he goes back up stairs to check on them before he leaves. He said, as he entered the little girls room, she was sitting up at the end of her bed and as he walks in, she says, "I've been waiting for you". Once his sister and her husband gets home, he tells them the story. Come to find out she sleep walks a lot and talks in her sleep. Either way, if I walk into ANYONE'S bedroom (except my wife) at night and they said "they've been waiting on me" i'm liable to run out of the house screaming.
I believe in Angels...therefore I also believe in Demons...."supernatural" occurrences I think can be both.
