It looks like the nose is turned up a little bit to me, I don't know if I'm just looking at it too hard but it looks weird to me. What do yall think?
Two more tries and you'll have the picture in the right position!! LOL From what I can tell, it does look like it may be pulled back a bit like it is scrunching its nose to smell....
I agree about the nose and yeah it looks a little weird if you look at it from the side. It kinda sucks that you spent a lot of money on Mount and it doesn't turn out the way you want. I would take it back and say something about it. But that's just me, I don't know about anyone else.
Haha that picture was committed to not turning out right I noticed it when I brought it home about 3 weeks ago, it's just been bugging me like crazy. I didn't know if it was me or not
I had a worse one. Only deer I ever had mounted and just did it to help my cousin who was gettin started in taxidermy. That buck, a 5x6 muley looked surprised...everybody who saw it thought similar. I was kinda disgusted with it at first then it come something of a family joke. Gramma named it the oh @#$# deer. We had more fun with it than we would of had it been a nicer job.
Definitely not the best job. If you have another one done in the future, I probably wouldn't take it back to this guy, unless he improves. Unfortunately, I do have some older mounts on my wall that look worse. Lol
It looks like he is smiling and smelling. Like he just caught a whiff of a doe in heat. Sent from my Classic using Tapatalk
Thanks! Lol I tried, that's the first one I couldn't get to come out right I took two other deer to him and they turned out good. I have another guy in the area that does amazing work for people all over the country, his name is Chad Cooper. He is like $200 more but it's worth having a good mount
Haha, glad I could help. Yeah guy did a crappy job...no way to sugar coat it. Reverse of a roman nose...shame but with a new cape you could have it redone and fixed by a proper taxi.
It definitely could be worse, but I would recommend you find a new taxidermist. It does look a bit scrunched up, but taxidermy is an art and some taxidermists are just not artists. I had one done 5 years ago out of state and the eyelids are cracking the nostrils are caked with clay and there is a separation between the antler and the fur on the skull... he went out of business a month later. Now I use gordy. Best taxidermist in the Midwest as far as im concerned
I would say the nose is right, but what Covey said about the Roman nose is why it looks strange. I bet if the bridge on the nose was built up better, it would look fine. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
I specifically asked him when he did it to keep the nose built up, when I killed him the bridge of the nose was way higher. I can't find the picture I had of it or I would post it.
