I bought an older model bow. Its a Parker Ultralight 31. I'm pretty sure i got a good deal on it. I'm not sure what year it is unfortunately but does that take anything away from the integrity of the bow. Im a newb and just got into the sport so i bought used because it was affordable. I just don't want to draw the string back and the bow break in my face. I know this is a strange question. With all of the research Ive done the Parker ultralight 31 is a good bow. But it is an older model. Does that really mean anything? seems like a good bow to start out with.
would not hurt to take it to a pro shop (not a big name store) if you can and have a quick once over. Like mentioned get the string changed out.
I agree... I'm not new, just a cheap-azz! I buy only used bows, just like my trucks. Get them used, but in great shape. You'll save all kinds of money Like stated above, it's the strings and cables that may need replacement. Take it to a real pro-shop and get it looked over.
There are many guys on here that are using bows that are 10-15 years old and even older. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. With the age of the bow you might miss out on some technology features, but overall if you shoot it well it doesn't matter.
Totally agree with this! A local shop would be able to check the basics out and give you a thumbs up! Also, the string should be replaced at least every other year in my opinion so get that done as well.
