So I'll take the (possibly) politically incorrect route...

You don't have the farm and mentioned maybe you don't need a truck any longer but do have quite a drive daily. If give a look at an AWD Toyota Highlander.

Comfort, spacious, awd, a good number of toys, decent mileage. V6 but I think they may still offer a hybrid as I know you're very green conscious.

After finally convincing my wife that I really need a Bronco and not some school kid rendering electric truck... I think i might lease a Bronco for a work vehicle. Love the Tundra but its a '15 and I've already hung 190k on the odometer. Great truck, zero problems but I don't haul anything but a$$ with it.

Google for reviews and recalls for any model you have in mind. I neglected to do this on a Honda van- spent a fortune in keeping it running. Traded it for a Ford Ecosport. My observation is that any car or truck is subject to anything that can happen. About 50+ years ago, we had a lady in town who bought a Rolls-Royce. The day after she bought it, she drove to her husband's office. Got ready to go home and it wouldn't start! Any thing mechanical or electrical is subject to failure. BTW, had my car serviced this week. Priced a 4WD Ford truck- sticker was $67+ including $19+ options.

Green conscious? I may have a caviler attitude but I have worked in the environmental field since 1989 I have done more to remediate polluted groundwater and prevent groundwater and air pollution than any greenie with a bumper sticker ever will.

Toyota is out of the question I would have to go inside the 694 494 loop around the Metro area, the other option is St Cloud and that is not going to happen. Both crapholes to be avoided, some crappy driver runs into you and the cops will not show.

If you are just 3 year leasing you may as well get what you desire, My 2 cents though ! All jeeps rust, The more corners and sharp edges the more rust, Jeeps offer terrible gas mileage, just for you Sota--jeeps are basically Dodge trucks,

My Rubicon has been very reliable, When you test drive, see if you can live with it as a daily driver for that time on road.
