Lease is up in November thinking about a Gladiator they are cheaper at a base level then a Silverado was thinking a deluxe version. Never owned a jeep are they reliable for 3 years?
Man I have never liked the Jeep brand. My ex wife had one years ago and it was always going to the shops for something. But things may have changed..I had a friend that had one as well, he hated it. always at the shop. these were the Cherokee jeeps. I love a silverado.. im on my 4th one... I will say, the best riding vehicle I have ever owned was a Tahoe. 2007 model.
Keep in mind this is a lease for 3 years I have zero repair bills etc. Would be the second year model not the first.
My current Silverado has had an annoying slow leak on the driver side tires and a rattle in the right side of the dash, not real happy second half of the lease. Do not want a ford or a dodge. Thinking if I do not go gladiator I go with a jacked up crossover not so certain I need a pick up anymore but has to be all wheel drive.
Have heard the Cherokee's have alot of problems but not much with the wranglers or these new gladiators. Idk much about them tho so can't say. If they're anything like the wranglers i wouldnt be worried about repairs. Do know they say gas mileage kinda sucks on the newer jeep bit it's probably not much different from any pickup. Everything is a pos when it's broke down. Had a buddy that owned a Silverado for 3 months and it was in shop whole time, there's junk from every manufacturer. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
I drive 2-1/2 hours a day I want f u passing power and comfort with heated and cooled seats all wheel drive.
I will recommend what I would get if I was getting a lease: Silverado Z71, make it a Trail Boss if you want to eat a few more bucks. My wife has had a Durango GT for 3 years its a great vehicle, not much for off road but great "get up and go" acceleration and handles nice.
I have a 2000 Jeep Cherokee that will hit 215K next week. Bought it with 139K on it. Other than the a/c system being rebuilt and a couple of electronic components I have had to do nothing but routine maintenance. Not sure what the newer Jeep engines are like but the transmission were crap in the Cherokee line from 04-2010. Not sure if you could get that many miles out of a newer one made from plastic parts. But, for three years without maintenance costs, I would do it. I have always thought Jeep should do the four door Wrangler with a small truck bed. Looks like that is what the Gladiator is.
If your serious I’ll ask my friend who runs a line in Toledo where they are made. He’ll give me a straight answer. He’s a good guy Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
They are based on the JL platform, first year JL’s had some issues with crap welds breaking. The 3.6l engine is pretty stout for what it is. They are small inside, you may have issues going from full size truck to a compact truck, they feel even smaller than a Tacoma. Go with a 6-speed rubicon for extra fun, lockers front/rear axles, 4:1 transfer case, and cool stickers.
I had a ford pick up and drove Dodges when working fire, has nothing to do with the brand I just prefer chevy's.
