Well I just had a couple of inconsiderate guys push my small patch of woods out. I had a really nice buck on camera the past few days coming through during the day. They pushed the buck up and across the roads most likely running half mile to a mile to the other section of woods. Any chance this deer will be back? What have you guys experienced, thoughts, etc..
It might take it awhile to come back, but I've learned over the years if that's the bucks home it will be back.
Depends on how bad they get pushed around elsewhere... if the pressure is worse across the road it'll probably be back in a few days.
My family in Ohio does controlled hunts. Most times a mature bucks will double back Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Yes. I've shot a bunch of deer off other people's drives in WI. about 1/3 or 1/4 of them happened after they passed by or as they were packing up.
He will probably come back pretty quickly. His bedding setup worked. Theres no reason for him to abandon the area.
I think where you run into issues is when there is constant pressure on a bucks core area. They will find a safer place, but people just passing through is pretty common for them.
Yes, he will be back and return to his normal routine. We/I have done a lot of drives and the bucks return 99% of the time. As Skywalker said, unless there is constant pressure, he will be fine
If he was a mature buck he probably never left. He either sat tight and let them pass, or walked away while the drivers were getting set up. Very few mature deer fall prey to drive tactics. Mature Deer are next to impossible to defeat on their home field using high impact tactics.
