I guess I would have to answer no. My standard is to enjoy my time afield...to soak in what nature has to offer and to have fun. Getting an animal, any decent representation of the species, by whichever legal means, is simply icing on the cake. There are things I can control and there are things I cannot control. Some things are probable and others are improbable with the time and money I have to invest. I weigh my options and use my best judgement. I do what I can to up the degree of difficulty, but I also thoroughly enjoy success. I hunt to get away from the rigors of work. Hence, if hunting becomes too much work (we all know hunting is work), then I'm not happy. The last thing I want is to become frustrated doing the very thing I love. Sometimes I shoot em big and sometimes I shot em not so big. Either way I still have fun-it was another day I experienced the weaving of life's thread.
My standards really can't go much lower, so no, what I choose to shoot will not change even if it is the last minute of the last day. I pass 1.5 year old bucks anywhere I currently hunt and that won't change for now. I won't say never because I never know how my hunting situation might change.
10 years ago...yes. Now....no. Kinda been around the block and I will shoot does for meat. I shoot bucks for racks...meat is secondary.
