Just got off the phone with the Governers office and had a terrific conversation. I ask a couple of questions about science 1. Are classrooms allowed to have 30+ kids in them this year? Answer was yes 2. Then why can't a gym have 12 girls playing volleyball? The answer was silence..... Then well the MHSAA stated, I cut them off and stated I have read the statement and the ball is in the Gov court because the reason Soccer, Volleyball and girls swimming can't play is the Gov executive orders and the language in them. Followed by more silence. 3. Casinos are open and at 15% capacity which is more than 22 correct? The answer was yes. I followed with so 22 kids on a soccer field outside is safer than correct? The answer was they are not social distance. I followed with do you think they are in the casino? Let's be real a lot of the patrons in a casino are not the healthiest, they are obese, smoke, and just not too bright. Does the Gov enjoy putting at-risk people in harm's way? She did it with the Nursey homes and now with the Casinos, but healthy kids, the group less likely to get sick can't have 22 kids on a 130 X 60 soccer field outside? 4. I ask again the logic of putting 30 kids in a classroom versus 5 kids swimming in a pool, again I got excuses about the MSHAA, but I cut it off again and stated it's in the Gov hands now, stated by Mr. Buhl who threw the Gov under the bus yesterday in an interview. 5. I ask if Mike Dewine was dumb, being all sports are happening in Ohio and Gyms are open, again nothing. Please convey my disappointment as an independent voter in Michigan, sciences is not being followed, either follow the science or open it back up, she can't have it both ways. To steal someone else's line here, if mask works what's the issue? I then sent my check to our attorney and here we go, can I get a MAGA hat now?

Here in Vermont, the Governor has that restaurants and other public venues can open with up to 50% capacity or 50 people BUT churches are limited to 25 people?????? Classes in school are divided in half with half going Monday - Tuesday taking Wednesday off and the other half going Thursday - Friday but for sports, football can only be 7 on 7 "flag football" for health reasons????? Sounds like you are following Winston Churchills' belief Germ........ "If you're not a liberal at 20, you have no heart but if you're not a conservative by 30, you have no brain!"
Thanks for good input The gov can open it all back up, I am still not going out to eat or crowed indoor places, simply not worth the risk. As a parent you decided playing football, volleyball or swimming is risk you want to take then why not? Hey hate to break to the gov the parents will setup a league and go it alone. Love a sports book in the casino, love to play craps, the rest is a tax on the naive. That being said I do not do the tribal casinos.
I think the plurality or even most of us would like to see 100% re-opening with true freedom of choice to participate or not. Huh. Free will. Who'd have thunk? By the way, keep reading Outkick. It's fast becoming the Progressive Thought Intervention and Conversion Club. I think there's a lot of erstwhile head in the sand Joe SixPack sports fans who woke up this year and are like "what the hell has been happening to this country for 25 years?"
