Scouting at night my brother and I have put together a collection of 10-15 shooter bucks for our 2012 Hit list. Its a big area, but right now they are all sticking around our properties (We will see what happens soon with bachelor groups breaking up). Having seen this many nice bucks and knowing what we passed on in 2011 we have been eager to get some good trail camera pictures. We currently only run 5 cameras on around 700 acres as we sold 2 and had a bad experience with a Stealth Cam (my last) popping and smoking. Until a week ago our trail cameras hadn't shown us any of these bucks and although we know the bucks are there we have been trying to put together a opening week plan without enough data. Well we finally got all the cameras running and have some bucks coming in to the trophy rock. One 3 1/2 we call the 75 buck (w/ the split and flyer) and a couple 2 1/2 year olds; none the less something to get us started. Good ol' Broke Ear (Pics 5 and 6) I think is only a 2 1/2, but his body is looking more like 3 1/2. I have trail cam pics of him a ton in this area last year and he was just a small basket rack. We are optimistic to see what the rest of the cameras show and are eager to pull them in a couple weeks for the opener.
10-15 Shooter Buck!!! Wow!! I have yet to lay my eyes on one lol....Most of the field around here have corn in them so I have no been able to ride around this year...Hopefully you will get a crack a them this year man!!
Man nice deer and I truly feel Coverts offer the most amazing daytime images and don't cost an arm, a freaking leg and a left nut Love the one we got and will plan on adding a few new ones this off season.
I love the day time pics but the night time pics its hard to make out the antlers on some of the pics, I might try a DLC Covert soon.
I have had a good experience with night time pictures on my cameras so far, but I know what you mean. The pictures that seem to be there hardest to see (lowest quality) for me are those taken at first and last light (transition time). The pictures of the buck I posted on here were taken at 8:10 over a month ago which definitely fell at dusk.
