I was watching a show and some guys made a feeder out of PVC and just tied it to the tree. Anyone have success with this? Any pictures?

Also, is there something that wont break the bank?
Can you actually alter their movement with placement of these?

I have an old cow trough but i've found most of my visitors to that are raccoons with only the occasional deer.

Theres alot of different pvc gravity feeders out there and they can help early in the season with very little pressure around them but they are not very efficient. The cheapest model is a straight 5" pipe with a 90 degree elbow, kind of hard to fill and not very cost effective, no way to regulate food consumption, so anything can come at anytime. The "anytime" part is the key, electric feeders that are set on timers can regulate a little more of a pattern, but im not very fond of hunting over a feeder or near one. just my 2 cents

I'm not too concerened with consumption control. I just didn't know if there was something the deer would eat that the coons would not that won't destroy my bank.

don't get me wrong, i'm not trying to hunt over a feeder. I'm not a fan either. I just want to help add a few minerals they wouldn't get otherwise, and maybe "promote" a certain path of travel.

Unfortunately Chris, when you put out a feed for deer and there is racoons in the area they will come to the feeder. When I have a spot that raccoons keep coming to, I move my mineral or feed stations to another location.

Are you set on using feed? bc Trophy Rocks & Monster Raxx minerals will bring them in just as well. I will go out with 5-10 lbs of corn every time i check my cam and drop it around the minerals and its amazing how the deer will constantly hit the minerals and go crazy when the corn is there.
