    when I started hunting from a tree. I would step off distance to 20 step's and break over a limb or make mental note of that tree. also when I practiced I stepped off distance to target with my step's. after awhile you will know your bow and range estimation comes naturally.

    I personally have missed more elk and deer shooting up hill between 40 and 50 yards then I ever have shooting down hill.
