All this just for a flag?????

First Lady Michelle Obama showing extreme disrespect to the American flag at a ceremony in honor of the victims of the September 11, 2001 terror attacks. As police and firefighters fold the flag to the sound of marching bagpipers, a skeptical looking Mrs. Obama leans to her husband to say, “all this just for a flag.” She then purses her lips and shakes her head slightly as Mr. Obama nods like a complete snob as if he cant believe all the respect being shown the US flag.

Can you imagine if such a unpatriotic gaff were made by a conservative (the notion of that is quite unlikely) The liberal media would run it on a continuous loop to let the public know how awful and disrespectful she was acting.

Many have died and fought for those colors. It would do well for all those and even the president wife realize those stars and stripes mean.

Yet many would rather die for Confederate Flag. Damn I thought that fight was settled years ago.

We got a guy on this forum using the flag as a punch line in a joke as his avatar. The blood shed and lives lost for our flag affords it more respect than that.

A lot of people fought and died for the constitution and the freedom of speech and the flag so you can mock them on a chat room. I see a national symbol of pride, you see it as a punch line.

Did we just have a few good men moment here?

Second Bruce is not mocking the flag at all. It takes a bit of thinking to understand his avatar.

Third I have no idea what she said, I have watch the video three times now. So I am not going to speculate or lie about what she said or not said. I leave that to fox and CNN.

I doubt you were the person attempting to be “clever” that made that flag image but you use it here to identify yourself. You use it in a disrespectful manner as a way to mock it. As a Boy Scout leader for many many years we worked to instill respect and proper use of the flag to our boys. We taught them how to carry, handle, fold, raise, lower, store and dispose of worn out flags. We taught them the code so that they would know the national significance of the US flag. I have attached a link to that code so you can roll your eyes and poke fun at it. You will want to ignore this portion of the code.

“The flag should never have placed upon it, nor on any part of it, nor attached to it any mark, insignia, letter, word, figure, design, picture, or drawing of any nature.”

    http://www.senate.gov/reference/resources/pdf/RL30243.pdf

This will no doubt have the effect of making you dig in your heels rather than doing the right thing. A lot of people died so you could mock them in that way and show everybody just how clever your are.

I heard that about the first bi.....I mean lady but not sure if was actually true. Sounds true but it right line with her never being proud of America until they started supporting her arse to get into the white house.
Very self centered life and never giving thanks to those who made our fantastic country what it is today.

I'm no lip reading expert, but it doesn't look to me like she said the above quote.

Also, the president is a symbol of the US like our flag, you mocking him is the same as Bruse's avatar...

We are all free to express our opinions in this country, so why are we surprised when someone expresses one different than ours?

I wasn't in the boy scouts but I did give 6 years of my life to this country's armed forces. During that 6 years I put my life in danger countless times because my country asked that of me. My wife and child also spent some hardship while I was serving this country overseas. As a matter of fact I had to be brought out of the mountains during a serious ice storm because they thought my son was in danger of losing his life. When I got to the little military hospital I found him in an oxygen tent and my wife exhausted and in tears.

So spare me your puffed up "patriotism" BS. While you were a boy scout I offered my life to this country.

Having served is not a free pass to mock the flag. Last week I took my son to the airport for his return to Fort Benning. Dressed in US Army camo, the only thing of color on his uniform was the US flag on his shoulder. As he is deployed, he will continue to fight for your right to act like a fool and mock the flag and use that image to identify you. Those in my family that died in the service to our country from WW2 to Vietnam would no doubt share my opinion. As I said, you will roll your eyes and dig in your heels having been exposed. I called that one spot on.

Respect for the US flag is a rediculous position????????

Providing you with the nation code for the flag is a rediculous position????????

Letting you know the mockery you choose to use to identify yourself is a rediculous position????????

You are coming up on the short end of this one and as expected, (and predicted) your digging in your heels. Ive seen this with youngsters but not so much in adults. You are in interesting case study in people behaving poorly and then becoming indignant when called on it.

The coward that uses his family's service to this country while he hasn't done **** wants to talk down to others about what constitutes respect for this country. If and when one of your family memebrs that had the balls to actually serve this country wants to talk to me about me avatar have them join in. Until then take your puffed up chicken hawk *** and go **** yourself.
