My gripe about Brady and the Patriots is that it seems no matter WHAT they're talking about when it refers to the patriots...Somehow someone always brings it back to talking about Brady... They could be talking about crazy defensive plays and somehow it seems like they always revert back to talking about Tom in some way... Yes i give the man credit he is a good QB but i just dont think he's as good as the hype leads to believe... Just my opinion

That's actually true, except the Patriots never really play any defense, so it makes it even all the more impressive that Brady is able to carry the Pats and control the game only playing offense. It's justified.

Lawrence Taylor! I played golf in a tournament with him once and he was higher than a kite on cocaine. Boy can he bomb a drive though... high or not. Oh... and he only played about 5 holes 'cuz the sweat was just pouring off him and he said he hadn't slept in about 18 hours. Sad really...

Come on Siman...you have to realize how crazy that comment is?

LT is considered by many to be the best defensive player in NFL history and Butkus is high on that list as well. Even with rule changes there are still dominate defensive players in this league.

They would not have existed. Woulda been suspended 2 games into the season. Do you really think they would have laid back and played more tactful? Come on now...

Butkus was before my time but I watched a lot of LT during his career. As aggressive as he was he was not considered a dirty player. He was not known for late hits on QB's. Even the Thiesman injury was a clean play and still would be today. You really have no basis to single him out versus other defensive players. I see no reason he couldn't play within the rules today just as he did then. He could dominate a game without even touching the QB with all the attention he required. Your reaching pretty far on this one.

I don't believe this is correct. I never said anything about "late QB hits" or Theismann. Just the style of play. Do you ever watch NFL films? Alot of those tackles would be illegal now. No horsecollar, no helmets down, no clocking a blindside receiver. Ronnie Lott wouldn't be allowed to establish fear in receivers.

Its considered unsportsmanlike and dirty to tackle somebody too hard. I watch a minimum of 3 NFL games a week, players were getting penalized for clean hits that were too "violent" looking. Dont be blind sir...

Watch this video. All these plays are from the last few years, 90% are illegal hits that will be called this year (Below the knees, leading with helmet, blindside receiver or gunner). 90%!. Your telling me Ronnie Lott, **** Butkis and Lawrence taylor would "lay" off this style of play? Right...

Agree 100% on the Ronnie Lott comment but he played a completely different position as a corner/safety. He liked to hit guys in the head and in defenseless situations.

I think someone who was primarily a pass rusher who played the game clean would not be effected to the same extent as an aggressive hitter in the secondary.

Maybe so. The point is...tough guys will be gone because of Tom Brady.

It will be interesting to see how the "Honey Badger" does in the NFL.

I agree the league has gotten really soft compared to the old days. I miss the time when defense was a bigger part of the game.

players today are stronger and faster than those of yesteryear....THAT is the main reason for a lot of the rule changes. the league is being sued out the wazoo by retired players who are suffering from long lasting brain injuries that the league was to ignorant to look at or change before....example...junior seau. FACT.....NO WAY TO ARGUE THAT. but to blame tom brady for all of this is ignorant. yes he is a whiner,,,yes there was the tuck rule (got changed back though). yes his whining leads to reffs making calls his way...but its like that for peyton manning and yes was even for your boy siman.....mr. (ill text you a pic of my junk) brett favre. lets open our eyes a little bit more on those rule changes....its NOT BECAUSE OF BRADY.

They didnt go after the New Orlean Saints for paying players to take Favre out until after he had retired.

Although I had always acknowledged Deion Sanders great athletic ability, I never liked his personna and always rooted against him...until he dumped the water cooler on Tim McCarver on national television...very unprofessional, but priceless.

I never liked Peyton Manning until he became a Bronco. Being a Broncos fan, now I think he is great, lol.

I don't like Pierce because he played at Kansas and beat the Lakers in the finals a few years back.

I don't like Melo because Syracuse winning it all lost me a $500 pot in my bracket pool that year, lol.

The league is changing rules because they see the effects of football on retired players, not because some QB is whining for calls like all QBs have for decades. It's still not right IMO though. Guys that have no shot in life other than through sports get paid millions to knowingly and willingly play the most violent sport on earth (pre UFC era) then act surprised when they have health issues down the road and sue for even more? Give me a break.

If possible, I'd like to amend my list to include Eli Manning. Basically, I just hate the entire family.
