You are best off to get a sprayer and spray Gly (round up) before trying to disc with an ATV. You need that vegetation to be down before a ATV disc will dig in at all.

We have a Preifert brand disk for behind our 4 wheeler and that thing digs. The key there is the weight. And with it having 1 gang behind the other being pitched in opposite directs, that just helps out that much more.

I use a tractor and various implements. When I first started I used a walk behind rototiller. It worked good enough but was a bit of work. Next, I went to a tractor and a 6 foot tiller. I have sandy soil so it worked great. Even though I have a sprayer I've never had to use it in order to till my plots. I just tilled it weeds and all and tilled them under.

Around here, they rent out all sorts of food plot equipment. Maybe you could go that route until you find what works best for you.
