Kind of looks like it will be a wash cost wise after the year with faster internet speed 6.0 MB vs 1.5 MB, unlimited long distance and more Tv channels with HD and DVR. They said they would connect for free and bury a new digital drop to the house. When the comcast construction is ready I think I'll go for it. I do have a problem with Dish giving away HD and DVR's to new customers but wanting an arm and a leg from an established customer for an upgrade. A few months ago we had an el storm and it cooked one of my dish receivers. I spent an hour on the phone with some clown in India argueing with him that it was the receiver not my TV set. I went through and tested everything then switched receivers out from one TV to another and the trouble stayed with the receiver. When they finally agreeed that it was the receiver the real fun started. They said it would be $75.00 for a new one plus shipping. I said it isn't my receiver it is yours and they said no. I said then why do I pay every month for renting them both? They argued with me and I finally said then come get all your stuff I am changing to Direct TV. They finally said they would send me a new receiver for free but I spent about 3 hours from start to finish. Getting an American for customer service is difficult. All that stuff goes to India and they don't know crap they just read from a script in the worst American accent. Easy to see you aren't in kansas anymore.
