This is my impression, as a 15 season Packers supporter:

    Offense:

Aaron Rodgers is our man. Future MVP. Great player. People just expected him to fill in to those Brett Favre shoes too fast. He's maturing just like every other young QB does.

Ryan Grant is our future too. 1200 yards in his 2nd season...on pace for the same, with a terrible O-line. He doesn't get the chance to do his thing because we are ALWAYS in 2nd/3rd and long. Always. Ahman Green is the perfect backup right now, because this team means something to him. Brandon Jackson is alright as a 3rd back when healthy. Not everybody can have an Adrian Peterson in the backfield, and that's fine with me.

Our receivers are the team's best position. Top 5 in the league. Jennings/Driver are both pro bowl players, though Jennings has been down this year in production. Thats what happens to breakout players, im not worried. Nelson/Jones are great 3rd/4th options. Always a threat to take it to the house.

Were set at tight end too. Finley is the undisputed future, and Donald Lee is the proven veteran on the team. Havner is a great change of pace 3rd tight end who gives 110% and it shows. Finley has been out, and that hurts...but that will change soon.

Offensive line is terrible. Did we really expect 2 old fogies to step up? We need free agents here next year, not young guys, PROVEN FREE AGENTS. Its going to get worse this year. Were just going to have to cope.

Our million fullbacks have played like nobodies. We need blockers, and we have none. Fail.

My overall impression of the offense is this. Our Offensive line is the glaring problem. Rodgers will grow, but he needs time. The future is bright for the Packers. The combination of Rodgers/Grant/Jennings/Finley is going to produce ALOT of pro bowls and wins in the next 10 years. We just need to do the things to get them there...like fix our line.

And our coaches. New Head Coach, and new OC. Needs to be done. Bring in Holmgren, bring in Cowher. Do something HUGE, and this team will get motivated. Bring in someone to unleash this crazy offense. Run the score up on some people. Thats what we need.

    Defense.

Our defensive line is too young to say they suck. Raji can be a stud, Harrell has been a TONY size bust. Its hard to tell if these two athletes will do anything with there career, but hopefully they can. Jenkins and Jolly are average players...nothing wrong with that. We either need Kampman on the line, or gone. Simple as that. He takes up space at LB and we cant have that anymore.

Now the LB's, another strong point for our team, IMO. Barnett has been playing below expected, but its his first year back from major injury. I believe he will return to form over time, we have to be patient. Hawk is still very young, but getting better. Not so good in pass coverage though, and still makes dumb mistakes. Matthews is a future stud. Once again, super young, and will get better over time and make less mistakes. Bishop/Poppinga/Chillar have been average as fill ins. Cant expect any more out of bench players, though i think Bishop has a chance to be somebody. Like i said before, Kampman has no business here. The combination of Hawk and Matthews is going to get more fearsome over time, once again, TIME.

The one thing that REALLY sticks out ot me is how bad our LB's get burned in the passing game. Its sad that our corners can shut people down, but the LB's give up HUGE plays every game. This needs the most work on defense.

Our STARTING secondary is strong. I dont need to say anything about Woodson/Harris/Collins. All three are pro-bowlers and make plays. Bigby is a HUGE difference maker when hes healthy. He is the future as long as he can sustain injury free-ness. Tramon Williams is the obvious future at CB and one of the better nickels in the NFL. After that its terrible though. Jarett Bush is a nobody, and so is every other journeyman Db we sign or release.

The special teams are atrocious. Mason Crosby is a let down, Kapinos is an average punter, teams are returning kicks all over us, and our returners have no flash. Yes, Will Blackman can be exciting on occasion, but we need some ELECTRICITY.

Well finish 10-6 or 9-7 this year, and i KNOW thats pushing it. I just look at our roster and see too much talent for a losing season. I cant see it happening.

The draft should go like this:

    OL, CB, SS

Free Agency. Heres a sore subjuct. TT never does anything here. This year he HAS too, and he knows it, cuz he'll lose his job.

We need some offensive lineman, a 3-4 defensive lineman and a veteran linebacker. Maybe an SS too, or veteran corner. Pick up a flashy young kick returner too.

    Thats my take.

if he doesn't start showing some improvement soon he'll be gone... he's only a good QB when he doesn't need to make quick decisions... cmon, he's been sacked, what, like 35 times this season?? and many are his own fault

i wouldn't call him 'the future' but he's solid...

i agree, but they are useless if you can't get the ball to 'em
    i can agree with this
    this too
the departure of henderson was a blow to the team
i don't see a lot of probowls out of greenbay any time soon... jennings and driver maybe on offense
i'm still up in the air on offensive coaching

biggest problem on D is the 3-4 set... kampmann is very near useless as a linebacker but as a down lineman the guy is probowl quality... dump the 3-4 set and go to 4 down linemen... let our excellent LB's (barnett, hawk, poppinga) do their jobs and stick with our secondary as it sits... harris/woodson are two of the best man cover guys in the nfl right now...

crosby is a good kicker imho, his numbers bear him out to being the rough equivalent of longwell, that's good enough for me... our kick coverage and return blocking lacks BIG TIME though...
I think we'll be lucky to finish above .500
OL has to come from free agency, we need experience there NOW, not 5 yrs from now... we do not win the war in the trenches, we need Dline and Oline players both with the draft and free agents... Oline is hurting the most though

I couldn't even watch the whole game this week, I went to farm and fleet and bought a new set of blaze orange bibs for hunting.

I think I can say for certainty that some heads are going to start rolling !!!

very sad, we have alot of problems, and i believe it starts at the top, i figure by next season our gm and coaches will all be new. not to put all the blame on them, but come on, poor coaching, poor play calling, and no solutions to fix the problems = time to clean house

I won't say a word, Caleb. I think your starting to open your eyes. Your golden boy is not so golden. I hope you have that Rodgers M.V.P. out of your head. Like I've said since the beginning of the year, he has a long way to go. When he can start to think fast on his feet then I will start paying attention to him. Until then he's just and average thrower in my book.

As a Packer fan myself I can agree with you for the most part. We need help on offence especially on the OL. Rogers needs to THROW THE BALL when he is under pressure. When he has time it seams like he cant find a reciver and he takes a sack. Throw the ball out of bounds Farve wasnt and isnt afraid to force balls thats why he is the all time int leader but also why he's one of if not the best QB of all time. If Rogers dosent want to throw int's then just get rid of it.

On Defence we have good young talent in Hawk, Matthews, and Raji they just need to mature into legit NFL forces. Kampman is a passrusher that is his specialty. I still dont know why they are playing him at LB. I thought it was a dumb idea at the start of the season and I still think it is stupid. I also think they should go back to the 4-3 defence.

Front office needs to make some major moves this offseason.

My dad and brother were at the game sunday. What a bad game to go to.

Like I said before.... all I see from Rodgers is a "fantasy football" guy... he can put up big numbers but can't win ya games.

I am waiting for this weekend to see the Cowboys get after Rodgers.... he thinks he has been getting pressure so far, wait till Jay Ratliff and DeMarcus Ware are in his face every time he touches the ball. With Dallas's pass rush and Green Bays horrible OL, I could honestly see Rodgers be sacked in the double digits!

my friend, and die hard packer fan says by next season, gm and head coach will be gone, and mike holmgren will be coaching for us again. that would be great, i never had a problem with his play calling.
