I broke on of the 2 blade blood runner practice heads. Part of the metal that hold the blades broke, when shot only a handful of times into a soft bag type target. I have lost confidence in them and have made the switch to the Smoke Ram Cats. I am very impressed thus far.

Great flying heads, super sharp front and back and 100% all stainless steel.

Did you ever get a chance to take an animal(specifically a deer) with the 2 Blade Bloodrunner, before you switched ?

I shoot the Rage and I swear by them, best head I've ever shot. But I'm interested in the Bloodrunner.

Not that this has anything to do with the broadhead failure, but I thought you weren't supposed to shoot broadheads into bag targets. I thought the blades (fixed or expandable) would get caught up in the fiber inside the bag.

I cant believe that you are basing your opinion on a practice broadhead.

It is better he base his opinion on a broadhead that gets destroyed on a wimpy little target as opposed to a game animal.

I actually think that a bag target is prob way more brutal on heads than an animal. i mean. they bring an arrow from 200 some feet per second to a dead stop...NOW. and thats with a field point, which is gonna penetrate like crazy...
bags are gonna destroy most broadheads. Just sayin

I posted along time ago that the blood runner 2 balde did not even expand all the way and seemed to whistle when in flight. I use the rage 2 blade and wanted to switch because they would not stay closed in the quiver. But rage fixed them and replaced all of my old ones. I shot a doe at 32 yrds dbl lung and hole right thru her heart she did not even make it 15 yrds. It was the luckiest shot I have ever made and I am still very impressed with them. Also you can shoot broadheads at bag targets unless they say on them not to.

I don't even use the practice broadheads, I put the real ones on take a couple shots with each one and i'm dead on ready to go. NAP 2-blades are best and most lethal BH I have ever used. My biggest bow kill on the opener only went 40 yards with one of them hitting him!

I didn't have an issue with the durability at all. Matter of fact, I was impressed with that aspect. That's why I wanted to try them. I was really unimpressed with the Rage's durability. I double lunged a nice doe on Saturday morning with the Bloodrunner and the arrow buried into a rocky hillside, the blades just need sharpened and that head will be ready to go. I was expecting a bid more blood though. When I got to her, she had two huge holes in her, just didn't put down as much blood as I was expecting. We'll give em another go on my last doe tag. I really can argue with the result of my Slick Trick Mags, I just like to try new heads and carry a mixed bag in the quiver.
