I think this is the best take away here. Had you posted "getting dark, bad hit, looked low and back, when should I start the track?" I think almost every one of us would have said "back out and wait till tomorrow." And the end result would have been the same. Coyotes get some of our deer. Sometimes within minutes of the kill shot. Luck of the draw.
