Bone Head Hunter How did your wife make out the other morning in her blind? Not sure if I'll be back in a blind tomorrow or a stand, weather will dictate that I guess. Stopped snowing an hour ago and has melted already, should be starting to move! Rocky
Well I was able to get out this morning and finally got to see my first buck from a stand this season. Unfortunately it was 60 yards from me and turned and went the other direction. He never saw me but ended up walking right up to another stand of mine to within 5 yards. Wind was totally wrong for that stand this morning so if I had hunted that stand I probably never would have seen him anyways since he would have winded me long before I would have seen him. On a positive note I did check a camera and had a real nice buck hanging out on a regular basis. I took Thursday off of work so I am going to get in tomorrow morning and get a stand hung!
I'll be hunting Friday PM and Saturday morning over on the Eastern shore of MD. It's definitely the land of the giants over there (potentially). Strictly after a buck until at least Thanksgiving. I have until Jan 31st to shoot a doe so I have time. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Sat All Day Wow ,what a boring day,started of crappy too. Had the perfect south wind and got blown on for a good 1/2 hour before I even got to my stand from a deer that was up wind. Crap man what can you do, not 20 minute's after 1st light I ratteled, in cam 2 doe's up wind and got blown on again. Ratteled in another 3 doe's. 5 in all, the last 3 didn't scent me, but didn't come close enough for a montec. That was it for deer for the day. No bucks trailing and only 1 fresh scrape, man the chase isin't even on. Be out tomoorow afternoon, good luck guys. Got to go check my SD Cards from 2 TC. Rocky
Heading down to the family farm this morning. Only hunted It once this year. Should be great morning. Setting the wife up in a pinch point stand on a creek and I'm going to hunt my tried and true stand that has seen many bucks fall from over the years...

Had a good buck bed down 60 Yards away this morning at 9 am never moved until this wind changed at 10:30 watched him walk off.... crap! My luck isn't for s..t this year!
Wind Changed It's raining pretty hard so I'm not going out this afternoon, back at her tomorrow aft. Down right slow! They have to sart sooner then later! Checked my trail cams and not one buck on them , lot's of does! One spike! Rocky

Still not seeing a lot of rutting activity. Oak Ridge (2 hours west of me) is ahead of my usual haunt. At Oak Ridge, there were very few scrapes that were still being worked. Found a bunch of them but most had filled with leaves so next weekend should be perfect there. We are getting a good cold snap right now as well as next weekend (forecast as of now).
