Getting ready and taking some antlers to give light rattling a shot right away. The temp is 38 f cloudy skies with a light nwn wind at 2m. Should be good ,going to hang another TC that I got back yesterday from Covert , upgrade from a Black MP6 to Black MP8. Anyone ever use the MP8 ? How are they ? Let you know what happens later!

Just got in. What a crappy day. Oh well it still felt good to sit in a tree stand. Saw 2 does 8 turkey and a little 4 point. He walked a complete circle around the tree. No shots at the does or turkey. Never got closer than 50 yards. Out of my range and to frigging windy to boot!

5:40 I look up from my phone and there stands that fawn that my partner shot it's mom. Standing @10 feet. She ate for 15 minutes then left to the other end of the field. 7:10 I pack up to check out if there are any deer at the other end of the feild. Bingo,no sooner I walk around the bend of the bush a buck! I get my range finder out to check out his head gear. I get it out and look over to the left of the field and bingo again there's 2 cow Moose. It's the rut so where is the bull ? I'm a good 200 yards from them and the feild has lots of big bails to hide behind as I aproach them with my bad leg! I cut the distance in 1/2 . Check again with my rangefinder ,still no bull, I decide I'll take a cow if I can. I continue on to 40 yards and put an arrow on,while putting an arrow on I hear the sound of the fence go ting ting twice, I peak around the bail and they've jumped the fence and headed for higher ground. End of hunt, was good while it lasted.

I'm all about hunting in the rain (done it twice already) but it just wasn't feasible this morning. Had it been November 3rd instead of October 3rd then it might be a different story

Had a gret morning. I setup the wife in a ground blind on a major funnel between three ag fields. She saw 9 and never got to draw her bow. She had 3 different small buck close but her goal is an 8 pt and decided to pass the shot opportunity.

I had the drop tine buck show up right at day light, but never could get an open shot. I drew on him once, but it was way to thick to take the shot. around 8:30 I had 2 button bucks walk by close enough to spit on.

Guys I was not sure if we used gross or net when scoring the monster bucks this team is going to put down so I looked it up... we use GROSS score. Here is what it says in the rules.

Scoring system will be as follows:

Each participant is allowed to enter ONE antlered deer as their “Buck Score”. This must be the FIRST antlered deer that you harvest during the season.

Score will be based on GROSS total score using the P&Y scoring system. All measurements must be listed at time when score is posted. If anyone has any problems with scoring, please ask for help first.

Mule Deer and Blacktail deer will not have a multiplier for the inches of antler that the animal scores. Whatever the gross score is will count as your final score.

Each participant is also allowed to enter ONE “Bonus Deer” as well. Antlerless deer, regardless of size, will count as 50 points.A second buck can be entered in place of a doe as your “Bonus Deer” counting for the 50 points. *Remember, you’re first antlered deer must be used as your “Buck Score”, your second antlered deer will be worth only 50 points, even if it’s bigger than your first.

I will also post this for anyone needing help with scoring...
