Some eye candy from yesterday pull… The big one in the back is the buck I hit last year and didn’t get. He is a toad again! This is a buck that I haven’t seen for two years-- no idea where he got off to, but it’s nice to see he wandered back through.
Hey Guys!! Just checking in to say that I have been following along, I just don't have much to post. I hunt mostly public land so I don't have the opportunity to put out food plots and I don't run a bunch of cameras as I don't trust them on public land. I will probably put out a couple this week and then start scouting in earnest after I get back from antelope hunting over Labor day. I have a couple cameras out at my cousin's farm but the deer there pass through more than stick around and the pictures are sporadic. I want to set up a groundblind and a camera for my mom in a treeline that will be coming out next year but I will probably hunt it some too. This was my grandpa's farm and I have never taken a deer on the place. I would like to do that before every square inch of the place is covered in crops. I have been shooting 3D just about every weekend all summer long and was pretty confident until Sunday. I fell apart and I'm not sure why. I took my bow in to the shop yesterday to give it a better looking over than I could and I will go shoot it at lunch today. I should be hitting 10's at 60 yards right now not looking for arrows in the weeds so that is a little disheartening. Other then healing up from a nasty case of poison ivy I acquired in Minnesota a week ago, that's what I have been up to. I am getting really excited watching everyone making preparations for the season to start. I'm trying to rein myself in a bit as I usually hunt like crazy the first month of the season and I am burned out, out of vactio or
I should have just pulled the plug but I kept going. Then I made more mistakes because I was distracted. I took a second shot on a target just to see what I did wrong with the first shot and hit the leg stake and busted an arrow. First one in quite a while.
I had Trophy Ridge 3d tips on my 2 primary arrows, they have been my first 2 arrows since February indoor league. Was not a happy camper. Sent from my SM-N915V using Tapatalk
Bone Head Hunter That buck in the back of the other one is a tank, thick main beams. Good luck sticking him again this year, LOL. Going out this morning to finish hanging the stand from the other day. It's up, just need to tighten it an cut shooting lanes. Then on my way out I'll take an SD card out of my other TC there. Also take down one more stand and carry it over to where I want to put it. This knee is really causing havoc to my self esteam! I'll get'er done sooner or later. Rocky
Sorry folks, been on vacation for 2 weeks. Just came back with my new ladder stand, hoping to put it up this weekend!
Welcome r0scoe!!! I went and shot my bow at lunch. My rest was popping back up and making contact. Second 2 arrows were in the 12 ring at 50yards! Confidence is restored!! Sent from my miracle pocket communication device.
No worries! Glad you made it! Looks like we have a solid team this year! Now if Oct 1st would just arrive I would be happy! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Back Welcome Roscoe ,good to have ya on our side. Hung my stand and moved one and made 3 trips back and forth into the bush moving crap .One mile both ways, I'll finish that after my fishing trip,no pictures of anything worth looking at on my other TC. My oh my,forgot to loosen my steps on one of the stands I moved and had to dig most steps out! Won't forget that again! Rocky
